Same! By 2012 loads of people had iPhones and everyone had some type of touchscreen smart phone in school. and we were on our computers a lot more often hahaha l. If I’m not wrong some scenes I saw they still used cassette tapes but those were practically non existent by then haha
I’m watching TTEOTM now and WOW the contrast between the fight scenes there and here is GREAT. I always thought that xianxia fight scenes were just boring but wow I’m so impressed right now by the fight scenes in TTEOTM and I keep comparing it to the unnecessarily long and boring final fight sequence with haoxuan. Of course I get they are two dramas with very different vibes. LYST is obviously a rom com but also on that note they should’ve just focused on the rom com n shorten the boring fight scenes hahaha. Would’ve made the drama so much better for me imo. Dk why they decided to drag out the conflict for so long it only amplified the dramas weakness in building up the plot and writing snooze fest fight scenes
I’m at episode 15 and I have to say I’m very impressed by the fight sequences in this drama. I usually find the fight scenes in xianxia super boring and unnecessarily long, but they managed to make it exciting in this drama even though it’s probably one of the longest fighting sequences I’ve seen yet. The special effects are great omg.
at some point they really made 2012 feel like the early 2000s hahaha,,,,,, like we had pretty good technology back then i'd say. as someone who went to roughly the same grade as the characters in 2012 I FEEL OLD

maybe because your interpretation of the show is a bit different from others? im not some huge fan of the show but i dont think it deserves the disdain. the FL is neither immature nor silly. she's honest about her thoughts and treats people with sincerity, and that includes the boy she likes. i think that's really mature?? u even see her dealing with conflicts with her peers super efficiently, which is something even adults can't do. while its true that the male lead seems emotionless, he never acted that he doesn't like her. clearly he just reclusive and has low self esteem. he always treated the FL kindly and was never the typical cold emotionless bully male lead towards her.
I just realized the show aired every day at 7pm and the Chinese title, roughly translated, is 7'o clock auspicious…
The A Lin OST will remind me forever about the drama and the novel, even though I don’t find the drama that great unfortunately. I love that OST so much I’ll listen to it forever. So in a way this drama will have some place in my heart hahaha
for me this was “disppoint me seven times”. Idk maybe I just had too high expectations. It’s not too bad but it kinda went from a unique plot of having to live 7 tribulations of tragic romance to just any other typical xianxia plot. But I do have to give some props to the show since I did not drop it. The best takeaway from this drama is the A-Lin OST which is probably my favourite OST ever. I will listen to this for the rest of my life and just imagine the tragic romance that was never served in this drama
