In the trailer we see the ML with white hair and marking on his forehead which is the usual styling for demons in other xianxias. The novel never really had a life like this. I think that maybe this is how the show will end? Since the beginning they’ve been alluding that the FL might be canghai (who seems to be from the demon realm). Could they both just become demons in the end and be together forever?

I’m so excited for the second life!! I hope they really bring out the contrast between the funny first half of that life and the super tragic and heart wrenching end!!! Hopefully they keep the fact that CK will sacrifice his life for his beloved dummy disciple hehehehehe

Well in the trailer I heard him saying “are you going to go against the six realms just for her?” To probably chukong so… idk he’s the ruler of the six realms so that sounds ominous.

I thought it was ok. Even as an immortal the female lead was quite simple minded and not scheming. She didn’t take her human life seriously for most of the tribulation. When she finally did I think she was just too emotional to think properly

Chu kong might look indifferent towards xiangyun at the end of ep 12 but we have to remember that lu changkong probably grieved the death of his beloved for YEARS. Meanwhile xiangyun has been grieving only a few days and she’s already so melancholic, so I’m sure Chu kong feels something too but is just hiding it. But it’s kinda funny… xianyun fell for LCK who no longer exists. Meanwhile CK, as LCK, fell for the real xianyun who will always be alive n breathing hehehehe

I don’t think they’ll spend this much time on the other tribulations. Even in the novel their first life was the most significant one

Yeah as a novel reader I can’t help but compare the drama to the original source. The drama made lots of changes and added a few plot points for “drama” and I’m not exactly too happy about the changes. I think I just need to adjust my viewing lenses and come to terms that it’s gonna be different from the novel and to stop comparing the 2 versions. On its own I don’t think the drama is bad, since it has quite an interesting premise

Yeah agree! I really like that they were really petty and childish towards each other in the heavenly realm. I honestly was fully expecting him to beat her up or at least lash out on her when he got back to heaven. And xiangyun would totally fight back. even though they were clearly super in love with each other already after the first life they kept denying it internally and towards each other LOL and that’s what made the novel so much fun!!the lukewarm reaction on both ends in the drama when Chu kong returned to heaven was just kinda mehhh for me. Drama Chu kong is just too mighty and I really don’t like that xiangyun is always at his mercy.

It’s my favourite lifetime of theirs tho 🤣🤣 I hope her acting won’t be annoying

I can’t recall exactly, but I don’t think there were demons in the novel like we have in the drama. He was a stone goblin acting on his on free will I think. But he was in a somewhat desperate situation
