If you want the plot becoming really interesting and serious, you should pick up at ep 17. The story quality changes a lot there
They don't stay at the same place and the story begins.

Ml sacrifice himself to save FL(ep 14_15). She'll get into a deph grief and decide to become powerfull to kill all the demon on earth (ep15-16) . However he'll survive and become a demon. Then the strory follows 3 years after (ep17).
FL is more calm and mature after her grief and change her behaviour.
