i also had trouble getting invested with this drama at first even though i know BJT usually picks good scripts and i love the trope of second chance romance.
i also found WYF's reaction unusual at first, but i understood as i continued watching. she was strong coming this far.
i will always fangirl for BJT's SY. ^^; but i think i love WYF's character more than SY.
so i hope you'll continue. but if it's really not for you, that's completely fine too. life is short and there's too many dramas to watch. ^^

i think if they changed that from the novel, the fans would really riot

the dramas you like are mostly top tier cdrams. ^^

here's my suggestions
the Best Thing - good romance, not very heavy, not slow burn. very pretty, the cast and set. trivia (?) abt traditional chinese medicine. i just need to finish the last episode. ^^;
you are my hero - also BJT. may be a bit draggy at times, but couple was cute.
forever love - started with school romance too. less angsty version of L&P
moonlight (2021) a writer and an editor. fun.
lovely us- school drama
everyone loves me - very fun
you are my secret
ordinary glory - not romance, just learned it's the cdrama version of misaeng
my lethal man - turn off brain and enjoy the ride ^^

when this was discussed before in the HL comments, i think someone mentioned that it might be impossible for cameos, since they have diff agencies.
but i am not sure. 🙂

if im not mistaken, it's only SZ who calls SY ugly. it was universally accepted that he is handsome guy. though young SZ admitted to WYF that her brother is handsome, and everyone wants to play with him.

also TFF would obviously be a big budget drama, they would need the leads to have BJT and ZRN's popularity. VM is good, but i dont think he's that popular yet.

i am not sure if that flashback was shown already, one of their highschool classmates confessed to him and SY shut that down hard. i know WYF was already told that he never had a girlfriend during college despite having a lot of admirers. to the point he was rumored to be gay (even his mom was worried. or maybe that was shown later)
so it is implied that anyone who dares to him approach romantically would be completely ignored.
so for me, that's just consistent with his character.

i was scrolling through X and rewatched (for the nth time) a clip of their proposal, and thought SY would be most probably crying on the wedding too. and most probably on the birth of their son (or children). 😊

i cannot mark it complete yet. >.<
technically i am rewatching it in netflix. so, still 'currently watching'. 😅

give this a try. it has a different feel from WIFTY.
tbh, i wasnt that invested on both dramas at the start.
w/c was hard to accept esp for TFF because i love the second chance romance trope and it's BJT!
but they delivered. both dramas.
still, if it's not your cup of tea, no need to force yourself. we like what we like.
also, WIFTY is a comfort drama for me, it is a bit hard at the start. but the main cpl and their friend grp were like dopamine.

A, this is not fish kissing. WYF actress reciprocates and the actress was able to show that she's enjoying it. There have been much worse. I've seen scenes in another drama that you'd think the FL hates the ML. I wished they just didnt kiss at all. ><

FL knows exaclty what he was expecting.

I am not really sure why the father had her take his room, but the lady seems nice. She wasn't rude and didn't antagonize him. She even seem to encourage father to approach HSY more. Her boy also seems nice.
Also, i also dont think he's completely averse for a possible reconciliation. Otherwise, he wouldn't be visiting for new yr.

In the novel, if i remember correctly, they lost their parents early and she practically raised him. That's why she dotes on him.
