He does romance really well and mostly all his romance dramas are hits. But he already pass that age and now after leaving Huanrui, he wanted to pick up dramas that more to his liking.

And on Monday. They always so cruel like this to RJL dramas 🙁

Is it? I commented everyday actually after every episode release. It must have been drawn out from all the comments. But this drama has so many themes and heavy messages. Im totally blown away. Its fun dissecting it everyday. The social commentaries is really a lot.

Ohh yess Love of Nirvana. It is such a great drama!

He will be doing serious dramas from now on. After filming this drama, he filmed Silent Tides and The Abyss — both are serious dramas. His next rumour project is CCTV Tang Dynasty Epic. So we probably wont see him filming idol dramas anymore.

It is revealed in episode 33 that Wushuang Society has been planning Su Taiyi death for a long time. Remember the zither that being played during his death? That is medicine music that can kill people. They have been feeding Su Taiyi with the music for a long time. So, when the musician purposely broke the string, it caused his death.

The plot twist is that we all thought he is dead because he gave LQQ his bones bit actually its not.

Prediction before finale:
1. Li Mofu which is Tianyuan Grandmaster is the final big bad boss.
2. He is also LQQ’s father. 🤣
3. LQQ is the human savior as predicted by Crazy Taoist. He is also 9/9 baby like Mei, Asheng, Bai Zhongying, Jinlun & Li Muhan.

The writer has been so unpredictable so far in her writing. So cant wait to see how all this being played out.

Im so so glad we are going to get happy ending for this drama. This is RJL’s last XianXia drama so he needs to end this with a bang. 🙂🙂

Episode 32 & 33:

I love our gang together playing and doing nothing in all those months they are at Beixiang. They deserved this healing break before they are thrown in another chaos.

Oh my gosh I love love the birthday party Mei thrown for LQQ. As expected of her to do something so meaningful like this for our tragic war demon. Just want to say that she probably got the money from all the winning LQQ won for her during the card game. 🤣

Anyway, the plot twist is strong in this one. I didn't expect to know that Wushuang Society is behind Su Taiyi death. I think the writer pretty much outdid herself many times in this drama. Her plot twists made sense despite being surprising. And I love when I can't predict things.

And I agree with LQQ regarding immortality is more like a punishment than blessing. I mean someone who have lived for a long time like him and Mei's shifu would understand that.

And we got another poetic justice in this episode as well. This time, it's regarding Emperor Zongding. While he is the most powerful person in the country, he lived the whole of his life in fears. And died in that state as well.

And another commentary by the writer on the class system. First we got it with Fu Tian on how this segregation caused him to be a villain. And now we see the same thing to the fallen Bai Zongying with how his sect is treating him. I swear all these immortal sects members are so corrupt to the core except few of them who seemed to have good head on their shoulders.

While the writing has been fantastic. The romance is truly the bonus for this drama. I love our couple. They have like the healtiest relationship between lovers in XianXia dramas. They discussed everything together and understand each other on fundamental level. LQQ is right when he said he is so lucky to meet Mei. She understand him, share the same sentiment with him regarding immortality and wasnt prejudice towards his origin. I like how she made him cry as he is so touched when she prepared the birthday celebration for him. 🥹 When he hugs her at that time, you can see how he just wants to melt into her embrace.❤️

I also want to point out that mostly all stuffs that happen between LQQ and Mei is literally like a mirror/reflection of each other. Like they both started their relationship with their own ulterior motives. Or how the marriage bond saved Mei couple of times when she’s on the verge of death and not only him. Which also explain their understanding towards each other without much conflict even after him being a War Demon revelation. Also the part where both went and beyond to help people in need where him against his bloody nature as a War Demon and while her breaking rules to do that at the cause of her cultivation. Also how they both experience ‘memory erasing’ since that is LQQ’s response to trauma. The writer took the title ‘Perfect Match Made in Heaven’ literally in everything. 😆

I agree. I cant take it as well thats why I barely watch idol romance dramas now since it is so frustating to see how imbalance it is. I dont find simp man attractive unfortunately where their motivations center around the FL only. 😅

I ended up rewatching Forever and Ever and The Blue Whisper instead if I want to watch a good romance dramas lol

Appreciation on LQQ finally getting to taste! 😭 RJL is so convincing in the eating scenes. He indeed devour all the foods in front of him. 😋

I'm so happy for him. I want him to eat all the delicious food in the world. 🍲 🍜 🍚 🍣 🍝 🍲 🍛 🍛 I'm a foodie so I connect to him on spiritual level for this kind of thing. 🤣🤣

And the glare he gave Ying Ying for saying his wife's cooking's awful is hilarious. 😆

Episode 30 & 31:

Gosh I love both episodes. What a great ride esp Episode 30. Who would have thought LQQ is at Great Stage Competion (8th stage) before Deity Transformation (10th stage). And I also wonder how he wants to defeat Fu Tian and it made complete sense when he used Mr Gui's Sunblock cloak to turn back the time. This is why I love the writer's writing since she always set up the stage for her plot way earlier. So when it happened, it's from existing condition and wasn't there suddenly as plot armour. It happened many times in the drama and this is also one of them.

Also, I love how a simple clue like Lord Baozi defends Bai Zongying at the fight at the inn gives us all we need to know who is the real mastermind behind Fu Tian which is Tianyuan Grandmaster. And the LQQ's dissapointment face when Fu Tian still refuse to admit his mistakes. 😔 He is the type of villain who become villain due to environment. What he hates to see before, he become the exact thing that he despise. But I must applaud the fine line he is walking as in becoming the lapdog of immortal sects but at the same time build an army to fight the same immortal sects.

I also like the theme about people side with power. All the Qinghong Sect's excuse of siding with Fu Tian because LQQ is a War Demon which is their enemies is just excuse since the real reasons is they side with power - - they are human which were given spiritual roots to become immortal so of course they're gonna side with people who gave them power. That's why Ying Ying didn't bother to explain when she killed the Void Level cultivator since despite he knew the truth, he will still side with Fu Tuan.

And I also kind of happy with the punishment Bai Zongying is getting right now. I still can't forgive him on how he killed all the innocent Wushuang Society members despite knowing full well how Demon cultivators look like. So his close eyes and killing them is much more unforgivable than people who follow blindly like Jiang Ji or Li Muhan. But I like what Mei told him about being free despite being powerless. This is where LQQ and Mei are different as they didn't covert power but just happy living a quiet and happy lives. That kind of wisdom are not understood by many people in the drama as they are so greedy for power.

Also, I love how we got a calm and happy episode for episode 31 before we are thrown into another conflict in the next episode. I love our sweet couple. They always so happy when they talk to each other and being in each other's company. They are indeed a 'Perfect Match' as they truly understand each other on fundamental level.

Like mostly all his dramas, it's ride and die couple. They both equally give in the relationship. That's why it is so satisfying watching how their relationship unfold.

And they have probably the healthiest relationship in XianXia dramas lol. After the revelation of his identity, they discussed everything together before doing anything. Even when it's dangerous and he is worried about her, he still let she join him since that is what she wants and he respected that.

But like all his dramas, romance is just a subplot as this drama focus on his journey to become human.

Exactly! It goes both way. Everytime both on verge of death, the bond will save each other. I love how consistent is the writing.

Anyway cant wait for today’s episode. 😃 We finally have more sweet time between our couple.

Cant wait tomorrow’s episodes! LQQ becomes badass again, its all what we have been waiting for! And his eating scene! What I have been waiting since I want this poor man to finally eat properly. 🥘🍜🫕🍲🥟🍤🍣🍘🍢🍛

And more time on our lovely couple. I love them! This is a heavy action drama with back to back heavy plot so having lighter scenes in the series is like a bonus. I love the way LQQ looks at Mei — he has this tender look and soft tone way of speaking that he only gives to her. And she will have this big beautiful smile where she only gives to him. They are like a hope and soothing effect to otherwise chaos world they are living in.

Episode 29:

My take on why Fu Tian cant take Mei’s spiritual root since she has the marriage bond with LQQ. It reminds me that Fu Tian said that Mei supposed to die after the attack by Xhi Xuanzi but there is something inside of her that saved her. I wonder if its the marriage bond as well.

Anyway, my take regarding 9/9 Heavenly Talent is LQQ as he is half War Demon and half Human after all. 😆

And I want to point out that the only WuShuang Society member who is alive is Tang You. Its the same guy who pointed out that LQQ is innocent. The same guy who went to Capital for exam but was thrown out. And the only one who survive this ordeal since he didnt take the memory pill as his own memory is good enough to copy all the texts since he is a scholar that is supposed to take the imperial exam after all. Its amazing how far is his journey in this drama. 😀😀

And I thought LQQ giving YingYing the painting is another part that made him a bit scheming and grey. He knew YingYing got the Blood Clock that he wants for his transformation so its part of the strategy to coax her. 🫣 Anyway, we know he got game the moment he used his wife’s lipstick for the sun lol. Glad he found another ally despite that said ally has her own agenda. This is why I love the drama. Everyone has their own personal interest that doesnt tie to the main characters. But they just cross path and work together with the same goal in mind. Its an excellent writing.

I always always greatful he gave us that drama. Its my comfort watch when I just want to watch something awesome.

I love how much he was praised by many industry insiders for that role. So more dramas like that please.

Episode 28:

That is an awesome revelation! I cant predict the plot twist regarding the shifu at all. Now its all made sense when Fi Tian told him that he was tortured by a woman. Little that we know it meant both of them. Who would have thought that LQQ’s past is more tragic than we already know. 😢 The moment Chu Ying had that expression at the entrance, I knew the truth gonna be ugly. I didnt expect it to be that ugly though. And when he asked Chu Ying to erase that memory so he can sleep… 😫 I dont know what to say..

Now the motivation regarding Fu Tian is even more damning. They both suffers together, killed their shifu together and move on with their lives. Since he knows how much LQQ treasure Mei, why on earth he wants to take her immortal perception? Why his life is so full of really evil people? Su Taiyi is correct, why would he care so much about human and immortal when they never kind to him?

Anyway, RJL got to stop taking all this tragic roles. There I said it lol. He is so good at expressing this huge emotional weight that his character suffers. While the writing for this drama is fantastic, I want him to act in more dramas like Silent Tides where my heart doesnt bleed for him in every episode. 🫠

Luckily we have a HAPPY ENDING for this drama. I can watch it with ease. 😀

Remarks: RJL only dies in 4 of his aired 22 dramas so no, he didnt die in all of them just before anyone spread another rumour about him lol.

I know! It was so awesome. Ohh how my heart bleed for dear LQQ 😢😢

Episode 27:

As expected, Fu Tian is a bad guy lol. The play he and LQQ watched together seemed too personal as he cried. It seemed like LQQ is the one who forgets. It made me think that is he LQQ’s father? Or friend? Since during LQQ reminisce scene in episode 3 when hes a little kid, he is searching for his father at that time. Also, when Fu Tian asked him to translate the War Demon ancient text, its another damning clue as we know LQQ’s father married his mother for War Demon’s secrets. And now since Fu Tian is a doctor, he probably the person behind the liquid potion that they drink to level up instantly. Since War Demon has longer life than most people, he tried to unlock the secrets of immortal life? So many questions!

This drama just got better and better. With all the ethics, moral & social commentaries and all the themes and not to mention the compelling mysteries that can be traced back since the beginning, its really one of the best written XianXia dramas in recent years. This drama actually managed to be different. 😃
