I actually try to like Autumn Concerto but I personally felt that the love is too one sided despite the fact that Mu Cheng did love Guang Xi. I dont know how to explain it tbh. Like she left him and made him totally heartbroken -- remember the scene where he chase her in the car when he's still in hospital gown? And again, it was him who want to reconcile with her while she still rejecting him repeatedly after their reunion. I like my romance drama to be more balanced. If they put plot where she also chase after him -- trying to make up to him, I'm incline to rate the drama higher. I guess I love to see efforts made when you said you are in love -- not just from 1 party but both.

Hi!! Just finished posting a reply to your comment in 1988 section...seeing I'm also in awe of Bo Gum after 1988,…
I actually watched both dramas years back -- around 6 years ago. Just post about it recently here since I'm updating MyDramalist to keep track with my finished Kdramas.

I watched Hello Monster back in 2015 and this is the drama that introduce me to Bogum. I have no idea who he was at that time but I remember really in awe with his acting. I remember thinking 'Who is this guy and why he is so good?!!' Those micro expressions and subtle acting -- it make my heart breaks haha. Then Reply 1988 was released months after this drama and thats what shoot Bogum to stardom.

This is truly one of my very fave Kdramas tbh. It's very hard to explain why I love it since it will be a spoiler but like I said in my original comment, only when you watch this you will understand this gem and why this drama is very well loved by everyone. Even the theme song is a mystery and only when you watch the middle part of this drama that you can guess which POV is the theme song is for. :D

also I see in your list that you completed hospital playlist...im looking for another show with similar friendships…
The vibe is totally and utterly different. I cant even feel it was from the same writer tbh. The closest vibe from Reply 1988 would be Hospital Playlist or Prison Playbook.

I'm on the 16th ep and the way I'm in love with this show!!! It's like nothing I'v ever seen!! I will get back…
Yes you are so right! I'm almost forgotten that each episodes are like 2 hours lol. I wish you watched it when it was airing since the discussion for this drama is insane.

Yep, they are in the same scenes, interacting with each other^^
What a waste potential. :( Esp since they are the same person but acted by different actors so most audiences probably rule out its the same person.

Korean dramas are always rated high here but with 6.7 rating, it must be really bad. Probably 3/10 in my book haha

I havent watch this yet but has the 2 of them appear on the same scene so far? If they did, its actually will be an amazing plot twist later which they totally kill with the early revelation lol

Ehhhhhhhh adding this to my list of second lead syndrome along with start-upnevertheless(unless s2 comes out)100…
Taek is the 2nd lead here actually. Not Junghwan. Reply 1988 is the case where the 2nd lead gets the girl just like Baker King Takgoo.

Hospital Playlist is actually a very good show. Its a healing type of show where you watch it just to feel relax and happy. I would recommend it if you love Reply 1988. Full of likable characters and the friendship is also awesome.

I actually dislike both Reply 1997 & 1994. Its actually full of unlikable characters and some of them are borderline abusive. While Reply 1988 are full of likable characters, the other 2 are full of unlikable characters lol. I dont mind flawed characters and I actually enjoy them most of the times, but there are lines that shouldn't be cross in my opinion haha.

Excellent review on this great show. You are so right. The heart of this show is the characters. It always make me in awe how the writer practically make everyone likable and lovely. I actually like all the characters and each one has their own depth despite how limited is their time. I esp love Dongryong and his dad the most despite my obvious favorite character is Teak. They are so lovely and the actor who play the Dongryong's Dad totally stole my heart lol! Such good actor. He also has an awesome character in Secret Forest as well.

The show is so well written that I actually watch it twice back to back after I finished it the first time years back. Each episodes are freaking long but I didnt feel it a drag at all -- I'm just so interested to see each one of the mundane lives of these 5 bestfriends and their families. This is without doubt the best family drama in my book. The writer really outdo her previous works with this one.

WOW, A new account "Join Date: January 5, 2022" just to say BS. No, thank you. ;)
Why they hate the drama? Any specific reason?

This should at least be a 8,6 (+), if Ancient Love Poetry has a 8.6, theres no way this drama is worse. 8.2 is…
The ratings might go up once the drama ended. I always see this pattern for Cdramas in general

I wonder why they take forever to make Joy of Life 2 when it is such a great series. I think even My Heroic Husband…
I seriously love this type of dramas so much. Can I get any recommendation of dramas with the same essence as Nirvana in Fire & Joy of Life?

I think you made a good resume of why some people was lost, and how the drama contains enough points for us to…
Sure! You seemed like a big fan of the drama. :D

And you seemed to be fascinated with a lot of Kdramas' writers. I wonder have you watch any works from the duo writers of Kim Young-hyun & Park Sang-yeon? They are the brilliant minds behind Queen Seon Deok, Jewel in the Palace, Tree With Deep Roots, Six Flying Dragons and Arthdal Chronicles. I actually consider them as the best writers from Korea. Their works are simply amazing since they are masters of writing layered and grey characters.

This is the type of the show that I never get tired of. It's very addictive. But, I wonder if I have to wait long…

Thank you for this list. I picked up 8 from your titles since it seemed like a good heart-warming movies that is great during this time of the year (esp Teacher's Diary lol). I watched The Con-Heartist at cinema and left feeling entertained and happy and wish more Thai movies are shown in my country so I can experience it in the big screen.
