Title Double Helix
Fr. I am seeing this everywhere " he is psycho", " he is toxic" ofcourse he is. This is toxic…
One thing I found uncomfortable in RL was Chi Cheng constantly threatening Dr. Xiao Shuai with sexual assault. He repeatedly said that if Wu Suowei refused to sleep with him, he'd sexually assault Xiao Shuai instead. Considering Xiao Shuai already has a traumatic past, using this as comedic relief didn't sit right with me. Shows like To My Shore and Double Helix are unapologetically dark and don't portray the toxicity as comedic relief and I like that. I have loved all three shows when they were airing so these are just my observations.

More focus on the Thai shows....I honestly don't get their hype considering their most popular shows aren't even that good imo

I don't agree with anyone calling Double Helix bad or outright trash. I honestly loved it overall. I think both To My Shore and Double Helix are on the upper end of CBLs in terms of production quality because both shows look really well-made.

But when it comes to characters, I don't think I've come across anyone as interesting as You Shu Lang in a very long time. He's soo strong, cool, complex, and incredibly fascinating. The character writing is genuinely impressive.

With that said, I hope we get more unapologetically dark shows like these. To My Shore and now Double Helix have been feeding us so well :)

I'm shocked at the negative reviews considering the happy ending they got wasn't truly happy it was appropriate…
So well said! The acting combined with the soundtrack and cinematography, it's too good.

🤔🤔 am I the only one conflicted with them having a happy ending?? I'm sorry but how do you forgive someone…
I see it as Stockholm Syndrome, and their shared history spanning several years. Yi Chen even said - Just a few deep kisses and him whispering my name a few times and I forget everything, as if he never hurt me

No one annoyed me more than the mom of that elementary kid, she's so goddamn annoying, I feel sad for the kid having to live with such a mom. The teacher is the sweetest angel, she didn't deserve it, I felt her anxiety right through the screen.

Title To My Shore
Double helix can't ever compete with To my shore in this fucking lifetime!!! 🤧🙏🏻
As someone who has read both novels, I enjoyed both To My Shore and Double Helix. I think it all depends on the novels they're adapted from. Four-Faced Buddha - the novel that To My Shore is based on - is a better novel in my opinion. Both adaptations stayed true to their source material for the most part, but Double Helix changed some plot points because the novel version of Lu Feng is unredeemable. I liked the changes they made in the show.

I hope potential viewers don’t fall for the low ratings and review bombing on this page. The show is very layered, complicated, toxic, and uncomfortable at times because that’s how the novel it’s adapted from is and some of these things do happen in real life. It's not sugarcoated, it's unapologetically dark as promised and it delivers. This is not for everyone, and I hope people go through the trigger warnings and disclaimers before starting it. Don’t expect a fluffy, soft romance from a show that has been marketed as a toxic dark romance from the very beginning. It’s a wonderfully well-made show for those of us who appreciate this genre.

Maybe because they make drama not merely for filling OTT's demand, so they are more selective in choosing plot.
So well said, they're really good at it!

Lu Feng's sort of love for Yi Chen, and I'm not joking, he's more ruthless than Lu Feng though more restrained…
So another Lu Feng-Yi Chen dynamic? I'm SAT. I hope it's as good as Double Helix.

I loved how high-quality the production was, from the visuals, cinematography, background music, plot progression and acting. I have a few minor complaints (like we really didn't need the 2nd couple), but mostly it was so good. It's the best-produced C-BL released since the last year. I hope we get more high-production BLs from China like this.
