From the 17th December till the 5th January, they will be selling the official merchandise from the show. This show was made by a local Japanese channel (MBS) who are not as rich as the bigger broadcasting stations so it relies heavily on merchandise sales to indicate whether the show is a success or not.
When you look at show's viewership rating on its official streaming site in Japan (tver,jp), the views aren't that amazing so tbh I'm not that confident that a 2nd season will be produced. If you are in a financial position to do so, please consider supporting the show this way.
I too I am not too familar with how this series is doing in Japan, but I think I can say I think the reaction…
Yeh I think the OST for KH is ranked #1 on the Japanese billboard, wish something similar can happen to Utsukushii's OST as it has some of the best songs I've heard in a BL

Yeh, it's nice that Utsukushii Kare is popular in China but it doesn't mean much when most of the people watching the show will be doing so via non-official streaming sites. AFAIK, UK does not even have any official social media channels on any of the Chinese social media sites so it doesn't seem like a market they were targeting in the first place.
What would help it is if they use VPNs to boost the viewing figures on the official Japanese streaming websites, engaged and followed the official UK social media channels and most importantly, purchase the show's merchandise and media. I know Chinese fans are pretty organised in the kpop fandom, but I don't know how organised/influential they are when it comes to BL shows.
A very short course on how to human. Never date someone out of pity when you have no romantic feelings towards…
wow thank you so much for sharing your thoughts, what an interesting take! I'm curious to know how they will portray him in the show and whether this will show through.
does anyone know how this drama is doing in Japan? Seems like it is not doing as well as Cherry Magic or Kieta Hatsukoi when I'm comparing the social media reaction at the same stages.
Even the international reaction to this seems to be not as good.. (except for maybe in China). I think these 6 episodes are only adapting the first of the three novels so it would be a real shame if they do not produce a 2nd season.
I am really impressed with the acting from both leads, the little jealous emotions Yusei portrays is perfect and I don't even think it needs to be said how good Riku is
Sorry. But I couldn't watch it the way you said. I made connection for vpn. But the website you mentioned redirects…
Sorry I should have said you load up the tver website on your desktop and you aim your phone (with Google translate on) to the desktop screen so you get instant translations
Guys, I've found a solution to watching the show with subtitles pretty much straight away. It's not that straight forward, but if you're as obsessed with this show as I am, hopefully you won't mind lol.
1. Load up your VPN to a Japanese location 2. Go to tver(.)jp and find 'My Beautiful Man', here is the link to the 4th episode: tver(.)jp/corner / f0091429 3. Turn on the Japanese subtitles 4. Open 'Google Translate' on your phone and turn on its camera translation feature to the language of your choice (JPN->ENG) 5. Aim the camera to the screen and you'll get instant translations
It's not the best viewing experience, but I just watched Ep4 using this method and it was better translated than the subtitles which are on Ep3. Plus, because you're watching the episode on the official Japanese website with adverts, you're helping to boost the viewing figures for the show.
