Yes! I'm a kdrama fan and this is the 1st Cdrama I watched and I love it.
@Mafy01 Hidden Love seems to be a 1st for many Kdrama fans. I am glad you enjoyed it. If you want another show where the leads have chemistry simliar to Hidden Love, watch Lighter and Princess. I rewatched it just to stop the cycle of rewatching Hidden Love daily! It is more tense though so not sure in certain episodes.
I am glad I made it through the painfully boring episodes while she is in High School and younger... they could…
Glad you enjoyed it. I actually liked the earlier scene because it lays the foundation and shows us Sang Zhi's family. I loved seeing her with her brother and the way he loved his "Little Monster." But on a quick rewatch I start at ep 7 or the episode she goes to college.
I'm surprised no one pointed out how they knew each other when she was fairly young, but ig they never really…
I am not sure what you are saying. She first saw him when her brother brought him home when she was 15 I think. The next time she met him she was 17 when she went to her brother's dorm. That was when wrote that she had a crush on the star she made.
Only if you a fan of one of the leads or you like simple-plotted romcoms with nothing in them except for a very…
It wasn't that simple. I have already commented about this somewhere below. Similar to to Lighter and Princess it has a deep emotional development but not as tense.
Just finished the drama and i can't help but feel like story would have played better if they revealed Gao Jian's…
Again. Did you watch the show? Old Gao was jealous that he could never measure up to Li Xun. He was jealous! The girl he liked wanted Li Xun. He hated that. Li Xun trusted him and he betrayed LiXun. Old Gao was full of himself and lacked integrity. Li Xun had no interest in any other woman but Zhu Yun. He was good to Old Gao. When Li Xun found out that Gao had a tumor he didn't have the heart to sue him even though Gao to hurt Zhu Yun who is Li Xun's bottom line.
Omg i am in ep16 and li xun is just way to narcissistic .i love old gao idk if he will be worse in the future…
@ Joy OMG! My heart stopped when I read that you were happy he went to jail. I always dread ep 23 whenever I rewatch. I felt so bad for him especially as he would never had been in the position to go to jail if she had not asked him to help her beat the guy she hated. It was because he did it to make her happy that his sister ended up. dead. Also he lost his mother at a young age and his spine was damaged from saving his sister from her husband's abuse. I don't see where you find him narcissistic. Old Gao was worse in the future. I could not stand him!!! He was so full of himself and filled with jealousy that he could never be better than Li Xun. He was lucky Li Xun had a soft heart and didn't sue him in the end.
You can try You Are My Glory, imo the main leads chemistry are equally good with this drama
Glad to have company! I am waiting for Bright Eyes in the Dark to come out with the same actress from Lighter and Princess. She tends to have great chemistry with her Costar.
there are different genres in cdramas you can try historicals or nonidol modern setting dramas
Bai Jing Ting is the actor in Reset. Try watching You Are My Hero. He is the ML. I also liked the first part of Go Ahead. The romance fell flat for me in the later part. It is a good show.
@zainab You are entitled to your opinion. It is your choice to continue or drop it. HL was a big hit with some…
The ML had no romantic intentions toward the young actress for one thing. And it is perfectly normal for the little girls to have crushes on their brother's friends. The FL in WIFTY acted immature and childlish. This is why I do not understand why you came in here and made Zhao Lu Si's voice one of your negative view points. Just as you feel the FL in WIFTY was cute, I felt Lu Si was adorable all throughout HL. She showed growth from the time she was 17 to when she started college when she was 19. I think Lu Si did a great job playing a 17 year old. She was 17 and he was 22 when she wrote her secret in a paper star. She was 19 when he was 24 when they met again. And she was 22 when he was 27 when they got engaged. There is nothing creepy about that to me. It is obvious the show did not intend for the older Jiaxu to have any romantic feelings for the younger Sang Zhi. He treated her like a sister.
Anyways, I will not debate this with you because it seems you are repeating the same age issue that became an issue when the drama was first released and from what I read it started with someone who wanted to discredit HL.
You have the right to prefer or like whatever drama you choose. But criticizing the FL's voice as childish in HL when there is the FL lead of WIFTY being who she is doesn't make any sense.
looking for greenflag romance? this is definitely not for you. i binged it, i must confess. BUT. omg the perverse…
You found his behavior sadistic? He doesn't always say much but it was obvious that he would die for the FL. One of the things that is wonderful about the couple's relationship is that she understood him so well. And he would do anything to make her happy. He was busy minding his own busy and working on his career when she asked him to help her. She wanted the guy she hated to lose. And he did it for her. This is what led to what happened to him around ep 22/23. Imagine, his sister was all he had. I think you are seeing the wall he put up around himself and not the softness he had inside of him especially for the FL.
@Roseee Okay. I read it as you thought 9.1 was way too much of HL. I think it is because I had just come off reading some negative reviews by some WIFTY fans who feel the need to put down the characters and actress in HL. And I still say you are entitled to your opinion. It fine when other members just want to share their thoughts with you. My comment was more sharing what I got from watching HL. It is not okay if any member attacks you for having. difference in opinion. You didn't say anything insulting if you are saying you liked it but didn't think it deserved a 9.1. It is not a masterpiece in the sense of high budget cinematography, but to me it is a 10 based on its uniqueness and the depth of the emotions and character development. It also conveyed themes that are part of the Chinese culture such as filial piety and Jiaxu was the living example of filial piety. it is a 10 for me because I just want to keep watching and did not fast forward once in this drama.
Kind of agree with you. I thought the same. Moreover I am over the age for teen dramas. But one day it appeared…
@Vessy Ditto! I have been using the word "unique" a lot with HL. What makes it so special is the chemistry between the main leads. The conversations they have are delightful. They do look natural.
seen people recommend this after 'when i fly towards you' but i thought the first episode was bad. i didn't care…
@zainab You are entitled to your opinion. It is your choice to continue or drop it. HL was a big hit with some who never watched Cdramas before. It is a first for some Kdrama fans who now want to watch more Cdramas. I recommend Lighter and Princess which is more intense but the chemistry is amazing and addictive. I do not recommend WIFTY as a second watch because to me it is sweet but there are many other youth dramas out there like WIFTY. I watched WIFTY as a a filler show while I waited for HL and have not watched it since. With HL, I watched the episodes over and over again and now trying to forget them so I can have the joy of rewatching it gain in a few months or maybe more. It is hard to forget it when it is trending all over the place. There is an Instagram page called Deemalovesdrama that reviews and discusses Kdramas. Hidden Love is now prominently displayed in its own reel. And when WIFTY was recommended, she watched it but it took her a while to finish it and at conclusion, she said it was sweet but there is no big dedication to WIFTY.
It is strange that you find HL's FL lead's cutesy voice irritating. What I mean is you are coming from WIFTY right?
This is not to convince you to watch because I see you came in without that intention. It is great you found something you love to watch in WIFTY which is a rather sweet show to watch. It is.
I think it's because Zhao Losi has a lots of active fans here in MDL site as you can see how she become no. 2…
@Starrynight. I noticed some ratings of 1 at the time HL was released and felt it was deliberate. Apparently, the anti fans as they are called exist. And there is also the idea that it is done by the competitors. The fact that Zhao Lu Si's car was attacked after the release of the show is unbelievable. I am not sure what it is they hold against her. If you go back to the first page of the reviews, someone left a rating of 1 and basically just said gibberish with some insults against Lu Si.
It didn't work for you and you are entitled to your opinion. I don't think anyone here means you any disrespect. I think people just want to say what they liked about it.
Hidden Love had all the feels. And I could also appreciate the way Sang Zhi brought happiness into Jiaxu's life. Some people only see how much Jiaxu helped her and was always there for her, but I also saw that even though he smiled at everyone and was so easygoing, he had a tough life growing up and had to shoulder responsibilities no child should ever have to do. Sang Zhi and Sang Yan showed Jiaxu what a happy family was. Sang Zhi's parents at one time helped him pay his mother's medical bills and even though he paid them back, he would want to take care of his friend's sister and look out for her.
But somewhere along the way, a more adult Sang Zhi started to look out for Jiaxu as she recognized he didn't have any family to take care of him. She saw Jiang Jing throw water in his face and knowing he would never retaliate against Jiang Jing, she defended him. And the point in his life when he felt all alone after his father died, even though he tried to put on a brave face and smile, she knew he was struggling. She was there waiting for him with her arms open and ready to embrace him and make him feel he was loved. Scenes such as these just gave me all the feels and put a smile on my face. If it didn't affect you this way, that is fine. I am not holding your opinion against you.
