It starts in the present then goes back to college. Around ep 21 it goes back to the present but before that you will see them being romantic. It is really good.

I felt like that the first time I watched it but once I understood where it was going, it was better on rewatch. They will get together and you will see them as a couple. There will be a separation and angst but there is a time skip so you don't have to wait for too long to see them together again.
