I fell asleep two nights in a row trying to watch this. I think it is the lighting and there was so much talking, talking, talking. It puts me to sleep. On the third night I just kept watching from ep 5 even though I slept through 2-4. I figured somehow they ended up living together. It got interesting watching the way they were together. I fast forward through her comedy show scenes. I know they are not supposed to be good but I can't stand listening to the way she talks through her comedy act. I just want to see their story and it is quite interesting.

If you are on the first episodes it shows her struggle to survive and to be free. You would be surprised to see how it gradually changes where the ML helps her. There is humor and sweet moments. Lusi proved her versatility even more in the all the stages of her character's life in this drama.

I loved them so much too. I hardly noticed the sml in the first half and because I was convinced LR only loved PWX, I didn't pay much mind to the attempts at romanticizing the sml. They gave too much time to him in the final episode but it was a HE so I was happy with the whole drama.

I loved PeiRong so much. That moment was significant. I almost switched out my pff for TSoPG but I remembered how much negativity they got, so I felt bad to take it off. I am looking forward to seeing them as a couple again in Our Generation!

Yes. And I have even seen boots left on in English shows too. Nobody wants to bother taking them off and putting them back on again. But in the costume dramas especially, removing the accessories and putting them back on would be tough.

I couldn't even fully enjoy the last few episodes because I started to think he was really going to die. It was my plan to watch again after I saw that it was a HE so I could watch without fear. But now not planning to rewatch any time soon. Strangely, I watched the last episode again because the first time I watched it, I had a block up because I was so scared to see what I knew was going to happen from the reports and previews. Why do this to us? It wasn't necessary.

I wanted them to have a happy ending so badly. I was so anxious toward the end. I can see how well they worked it in and they didn't make us see him die. But that doesn't make it any better for me. I do not lower ratings because of endings if I really love a drama and this was an amazing drama. They made me love the leads. I loved YZJ for being so strong and I felt his pain and suffering. He deserved to have a happy ending. And so did Duanwu. She looked so sad at the end and didn't even want the position of head of the guild.

I did all kinds of things to my brain when I saw the ending to a modern drama, Bright Eyes in the Dark. I even wrote out an analysis to prove he did not die. I didn't expect a modern drama to have an open ending that leaned toward the ML dying.

😂 That is good but I haven't been happy since this ending. I am moving into the anger stage but telling myself to accept the things I cannot change. There are some dramas I watch over and over again because I can't move on. This would have been one of them if not for the ending. I heard Love's Rebellion did not end well so I didn't watch it. Then I heard it did. I wasn't too keen on the actress so I didn't pursue it anyway. But I had it in the back of my mind that maybe I should watch it. Now I see it is on your list.

With The Story of Pearl Girl, I don't regret watching because I loved it other than the ending.

Oh I have watched some modern dramas which led me to believe it was headed for a happy ending and did not. Some I finished watching and still loved it before the ending and some I dropped in the middle once I heard the drama was left up in the air. One such drama was You Are Desire. I dropped it at ep 13.


But Our Generation is a happy ending!

Like Duanwu, we just have to accept and move on.
