Do you refuse to watch because he refuses to kiss his costars? LOL! I am just asking because it is what many of us talk about with him especially as he is sooo charismatic. I still watch him because somehow he makes the kiss scene sizzle with his eyes but if only he would follow through.

Don't force yourself. It is probably not for you. If you don't like it by ep 17, you are not going to like it later even though the scene where she tells him her secret that she liked him before she came to college was beautiful. The scene where the tells her he loved her was beautiful to watch because it breaks my heart that Jiaxu had to go through so much in his life and it was so good to see him feel loved. But if you get to ep 17 and not feel any of the vibes then you probably will not like it any better after.

I am not hurt by what you said and I love HL. It is your personal reaction to the show. Nothing is wrong with that. It is not really just a youth drama though. The first 6 episodes I think was in high school for the FL but the rest was college/career. It was no college focus but more on the relationship.

HL was popular before it went on Netflix. I was glad it was on Netflix before a trip because then I could download it to rewatch on the flight. I was not paid to praise it. All my friends I recommended it to love it. If anything, I think the anti fans were trying to discredit it to keep the ratings down. If you look at the show in the view that the FL grew up in a loving supportive family as opposed to the ML who had to carry the burden of his father's sins and ended up having to pay medical expenses and take care of both parents until their deaths, you will appreciate the FL whose character developed from a sheltered little girl who was doted on by her family to a strong woman who stood by Jiaxu and showed him he too deserved to be loved and protected. It is so beautiful to see them. When Jiaxu looked at Sang Zhi and cried saying, "I love you, Sang Zhi," it was absolutely beautiful and I was so happy that he finally found someone who loved him and wanted to protect him because for many years, he was the one protecting and caring for others. Nobody took care of Jiaxu before he had Sang Zhi in his life.

What do you mean normally Cdramas do not get much attention? I happen to come across a page on Instagram that is for Kdramas called Deemalovesdrama. She did a whole thing on HL as her first Cdrama and loved it. There are many Kdrama fans who watched it because of her recommendation. Is this what you mean? Because in my drama world, Cdramas get more attention than Kdramas. Netflix tends to have more Kdramas than Cdramas probably due to some contract. This is why I have Viki as well because I rarely like Kdramas.

I cannot find anything to watch lately. I have already rewatched many of my favorite dramas. I was going to watch Lost You Forever but waiting for Season 2. I watched You Are Desire up to ep 16 then found out that the ending was left up in the air so dropped it.

There are 3 others that are on hold. I was looking forward to Twilight because of the two leads and of course Allen Ren! He is such a great actor. But the reviews are so bad because of the storyline not the actor. Now this.
The Story of Kunning Palace is on hold because of a supporting actor.
My Journey to You is on hold. (edit: released 9/2)
Both have the same ML.
And Love Only You is on hold.

Meet Yourself was much better than Hometown Cha Cha to me. I was told it was similar and it was but Meet Yourself was so much more beautiful. To me. My opinion. Try it.

@Sunset From your watchlist, I see the few Cdramas you watched and gave low ratings are ones either I did not finish or I am not rewatching. They are not that great to me. Try Love Me If You Dare. It has suspense. I am not a fan of the genre and the show had me scared at times but you might like it. I also watched Flower of Evil. It was good but not a rewatch for me. And maybe you might want to try a favorite of mine that is not a thriller but it is more tense than HL and the couple has chemistry. LIGHTER AND PRINCESS. Lots. I love it. And if you don't like them you still have lots of Kdramas to watch.

I am not a big Kdrama fan either which is why I asked her about Kdramas. I watched a few JDramas and was looking for one last night. I found one called The Full Time Wife Escapist but I didn't like it. I liked something called Shanghai Honey Marriage, not sure about the name, and that was fine. If you can recommend some good romance I would appreciate it. I prefer shows where the FL is not shown as dumb.

Lighter and Princess is one of my favorites. If you liked the kdrama Hometown Cha Cha, you might like Meet Yourself. I could not finish Hometown Cha Cha. I skipped to the end because I got bored.
Forever Love is high school to college and I liked it because the FL was smart and mature.
I am not sure what you really like but try the different genres of Cdramas.
I also liked the first half of Go Ahead. I found the romance part of it flat. It is not one of my favorites.

Absolutely! Cdramas are not just fluffy romcoms. I watch historicals, fantasy, and some such as Meet Yourself.

I watched Flower of Evil. I was looking for dramas with married couples. My Lethal Man is a mixed drama. Lighter and Princess is mixed genre and not fluff. Love Me If You Dare is a thriller with some romance. Romance is my favorite drama but I will also watch mixed. It seems many of my favorite dramas are mixed genres. The Love Between Fairy and the Devil is a romance/fantasy/historical as example. If you have not watched Lighter and Princess, I highly recommend it.

I have yet to find a Kdrama I want to keep rewatching. I started to rewatch WWWSK but halfway through I started skipping to the end. I think the reason is that I have Cdrama actors I just love to watch to be honest! I am open to suggestions for Kdramas. I heard good things about My Lovely Liar and will watch it once it is all out.

I am not judging here but can you explain to me what Kdrama rom coms are like. One that I enjoyed was What's Wrong With Secretary Kim and it wasn't much different from some of the Cdramas. There is another that I kept seeing but didn't like the look of it and when I did watch it,I laughed so much and that was Strong Woman....but it was weird and ended weird. I have also watched Cunning Single Lady because I was in the mood for a second chance love trope.

I have to disagree with looking to Kdrama instead of Cdrama for dramatic romance. Take a look at Lighter and Princess, Forever and Ever, You Are My Hero, Fall in Love (2021), Fireworks of My Heart, Crush, Meet Yourself ( compared to Hometown Cha Cha), My Lethal Man, Love Me If You Dare, Road Home etc.

I am looking for something to watch while I wait for some Cdramas to be released. Please recommend some Kdramas. I mentioned a few that I watched. I don't think I will be rewatching Strong Woman though. It was fun to watch but i didn't like it so much I want to rewatch. WWWSK is a fav Kdrama for me.

I think it is the leads that has a lot to do with why those of who love feel so obsessed with it. I didn't feel the same about WIFTY at all. It was sweet but it didn't make me feel the way HL did. CZY and Lu Si are so natural together. I would love to see them do another drama. The OST also adds to the magic.

I just realized who the FL is. She is the one from Legally Romance. Is it because of her that the show is on hold?I don't understand why shows have to be on hold because of a cast member. I was excited to see Allen Ren.
