I have a love-hate relationship with survival/death game genres. It's thrilling that makes me hooked, but the characters are in such a terrible situation that I feel so sad and bad for them. The rules in this movie is too unfair - they couldn't use weapons to protect themselves, couldn't use vehicles to get away and even couldn't hide since they're being tracked with GPS. They have to keep running for hours and those demons who are chasing them are strong and many compared to them. I feel so exhausted while watching this lol.
I actually like the ending since he was saved by being brought to another parallel world. It's so interesting and it's also the start of another plot and characters for the sequel. But I couldn't find where to watch the 2 and 3 of this movie :(
This was such a weird, chill yet fun movie where everything felt like an absurd dream. It's similar to Funky Forest and The Taste of Tea, but it has more fantasy and R18 scenes that includes monster, blood, gore and sexual content which became more ridiculous around the end. There's diversity too.
I've watched movies and dramas with prostitutes and protistution business, but this is the first movie I've watched that focuses solely on the women and their emotions. It only had one explicit scene and the rest are mostly inside their building/room where the women gathers to wait for a call. I love how they showed different kinds of women and their relationship with each other, their own struggles and feelings they've kept in order to do their job. The ending showed each of them moving on with their lives and continuing their path, either in positive or negative ways.
(TW: I just didn't like how they showed a random stranger from the street waiting for a target and was about to beat a pregnant women with a baseball bat, it was a short scene but extremely disturbing.)
I love this kind of movies... Strange, twisted, dark teen romance.
Two teenagers who are lonely and sharing the same pain but found comfort with each other and formed a strong bond. The guy was problematic but he was trying and their relationship was going well, until her so-called bestfriend disrupted and ruined them. I don't understand why he was quitting school just for smoking. And that teacher made it worse by insulting them that provoked the guy. Their future doesn't look bright, but I like that the guy was determined with their decisions about living together and getting a real job, and the girl has her full trust on him. Even though they're still young, they were seriously running away and want to live a new life together. I was feeling that their plans might fail, but what's shocking is he died just like that because of his mom. Both of them were abused and lost, but sadly, there was no adult who could help and guide them. Even their friends didn't understand and betrayed them. So they relied on each other instead.
I think the point of the calls from their past selves was a way for them to get to know each other more and surprisingly, the girl was the mastermind behind the guy's first stabbing incident (it was justifiable). She told him to do it so she could stop him from killing his mom (she sensed something more with the call from his past self, so she went to his elementary school and she found bones and the ripped dress that he buried when he was a kid).
About the ending... I think it's a symbolism. Based on his last call/message, he promised to be with her and the girl said she'll go with him. At the end, like what he said on his message, the girl went to the lighthouse/ocean - their secret place where nobody knows them. She was listening again to his call then she saw him again. But she actually followed him. She killed herself and they reunited. "No Call No Life".
I can't handle watching school bullying anymore because it's too frustrating and painful to watch. But I'm glad the bullying in this movie didn't go too far. After the male lead keeps trying to help and caring for the female lead, eventually another classmate also stood up for her and the bullying stopped. But there's more to it.
I actually love this movie and it's one of my favorites. It's a dark movie, but it's also heartwarming and emotional to see a nice male lead who wants to be a hero aka a good person. His intention and feelings for her are sincere and he was saving her despite all the risks. He wasn't the only one who saved her, the female lead also saved him. They both saved each other. The father deserved to die but I was worried that her self defence was excessive. I'm glad that she didn't got arrested and both of them got the help, support and understanding from the people around them. It took a long time, but they managed to move on while thinking of/holding onto each other.
For me, it wasn't a sad ending. They had a happy ending. The happy endings for teen romance usually shows their wedding scene. But this movie showed their complete story from the beginning until the end. What they experienced was so traumatic, especially for the female lead. But after some time, they met each other again, properly fell in love and healed together. I was so happy and tearing up while watching them being together again as adults and the female lead turning to a new person. Their time together ended when the male lead drowned for saving someone. But at the same time, they also had a new beginning with their baby. The male lead's death wasn't tragic because he died being a hero. It's still heartbreaking, but I'm really glad that the female lead continued to live on, grew older and raised their son. Despite the male lead's death, she always remembers him and happily talks about him to their son. He was her hero and love. And that also inspired their son to be a hero.
And as someone who loves fantasy, the surprise surrealism, effects, dialogues, their fascination and metaphors about "UFO" around the climax and ending added more beauty and magic to this dark movie.
PS. At first, the ending confused me after those stunning otherworldly scenes and it turned back to the scene of the boy from the beginning of the movie. I thought, "wait, is he just writing a novel and he got too immersed with it to the point he's seeing delusions?" Then I realized that he was their son after he said the final lines.
This movie has one of the most unique concepts ever and I enjoyed it, but only in the beginning when they are still in school. It was so intense and it gave me so much goosebumps... Well, not just goosebumps but I was literally shaking and scared lol. This is the second movie I've watched that made me feel that way because of the school massacre (after Lesson of The Evil). But this is on another level, with those zombie-like samurais killing hundreds of weak and poor students who couldn't escape. Seeing all the athletes who tried to fight back with their own strength and skills made me hooked so much.
But the following parts became more absurd and annoying that bothered me while watching. Honestly, I didn't like their plan and it only cost more lives. They made efforts and used wise strategies, but they were just being used in a war that they should've just left alone to the real general. In the first place, it was impossible for them to fight and win against thousands of trained, strong and grown soldiers who lived in a harder era. Everything was happening so fast that I didn't feel the emotions of the characters, like, that's just it. The action between the various student athletes and samurais/soldiers were amazing but I lose interest on it. I like the scenes of the students left inside the school who were theorizing and working together. I wanted to see more about the students' survival inside the school while dealing that awfully traumatic day and when they came back to the present. The ending was so abrupt and incomplete.
Anyway, what happened to the corpses and reactions of the people? It feels so off that they just continued going to school. The school should be restricted or abolished.
This movie made me cry so much but it's also now one of my favorite romance movies. At the beginning, I was smiling so much and tearing up because I love their interaction, connection and relationship. It was my ideal and I wish I have that kind of relationship. They easily got along well because they have the same personality and share common interest. They never run out of topic to talk to, keep on getting to know each other more, doing what they mutually enjoy and never had a misunderstanding or argument. They were such a simple, sweet and compatible couple living through their pure happy moments. But then I remembered the synopsis mentioning "5 year relationship", and I thought, "wait, are they going to break up?"
It's sad that they can't stay like that forever. Everyone grows up and have to take responsibility as an adult. That is the scary part. Growing also means changing. The woman is still stuck in her likes and hobbies that she wants to enjoy forever, while the man is the one who matured and took his job seriously. It's normal to focus more on your working adult life and lose interest/time in your likes and hobbies. But their "likes" and "hobbies" are their connection that bonds them and the first reason why they got attracted to each other. They didn't feel the same way about it anymore though. I don't think they lost their feelings for each other, they just spent all their time together and couldn't accept the growth. They should have given space for each other. Like what other people say, being away from your partner will make your relationship stronger because you can't stop thinking and missing them. You realize how important they are and it means you truly love them. (Well for them, it did happen, but it was 3 months after they broke up and already accepted their new feelings. Even when they have new partners, they still care and think of each other, but not in a romantic way anymore).
In my opinion, I could understand the man's situation and I was rooting for him since he is working hard to earn money and trying to build their family. While for the woman, I could relate to her since I'm so attached to my likes and hobbies because those are my happiness. But honestly, she was the one who didn't understand the man and the first one to start losing interest after he stopped spending his time to the likes and hobbies they used to always enjoy together. She easily felt lonely and neglected because he became so busy. The man was starting to find his new goals for their future, while the woman wanted to stay the same stuck in their past.
His line, "I couldn't understand. Until when did she intend to continue living like we were still university students? Did she not want us to stay together forever?" sums it up. He matured, but she didn't. And their connection that bonds them disappeared. They didn't have the chance to communicate about their honest thoughts and try to understand the parts of each other. They talked, but it was already at the day when they decided to break up. It was too late.
I was crying so hard when they were at the restaurant. After their long talk, they turned silent and were looking and listening to the conversation of the young couple who were exactly like them. They were reminded of their beginning and I thought that it might give them realizations, fix their relationship and try more. The man wanted them to get married, while the woman wanted to let go. In the end, they chose to separate ways because they finally knew they can't stay like that forever and they can't force themselves to go back. They were positive about their separation and remained as friends. I think that's also precious because they didn't forget each other and still have a good relationship. Just like the title "We Made a Beautiful Bouquet", they created beautiful moments together, but those moments will eventually fade away like how a flower withers. But the beauty, meaning and scent of that bouquet filled with various flowers (love filled with various memories) will always be precious.
It's a beautiful, heartbreaking and realistic love story that moved me and will always mark in my heart. Despite all the tears I shed, I'm happy I watched this movie. Thank you to Masaki Suda and Kasumi Arimura for portraying their characters well and made them come to life that I felt deeply.
Nana Komatsu is my favorite actress but I hate her character in this movie. Miki is not just weird but more worse. This all started when they were children. I like that their parents are open minded, but they should have carefully taught their children about sex&love (this scene already feels off to me before the "plot twist"). They shouldn't have said the full details about the sex part, but instead more clear about the love part. Miki probably misunderstood it and sleeping with her oldest brother didn't help. I initially thought that she has a brother complex, but it's actually incest. Yikes. She didn't like her oldest brother's girlfriend, she was jealous of her and kept throwing tantrums over their relationship. She was the reason why her oldest brother became depressed because she secretly stole the letters of his long-distanced girlfriend and they broke up because Miki sent her fake letters that she wrote on her own. Miki didn't even reacted when her oldest brother got into a car accident and became disabled. She's happier that way and turned back like as a child when they are always together. She wanted him on her own and she probably had a relationship with a girl because she couldn't like another boy aside from her oldest brother. The most disturbing part is when Miki masturbated in her oldest brother's room after his funeral. Her family are aware of her weird behavior before the oldest brother's accident, but they just ignored it and didn't even scold her. Her father just run away after knowing what she did to the letters, but at least her second brother punched her. Though I understand that it must've been hard for them to accept it.
At first, this movie seems like a heartwarming and sad story about the life of an ordinary family, but actually, something is wrong with their whole family. They have their own problems they couldn't cope with each other and Miki is twisted who is secretly the main cause of her oldest brother's suicide. The dog "Sakura" is the only normal one and that kept them together, no wonder it's a titular role.
I actually love this movie. The beautiful visuals, strange atmosphere and carefree vibes of it pulled me in. Georama Boy Panorama Girl kinda reminded me of Paper Towns. A rebellious teen who quit school and someone who likes them but the image they have with that person is just their own ideal and fantasy in their head which is different from reality. This movie seems meaningless or have no plot, but you just need to understand the characters. It's simple and direct but also quite deep. It's a go-with-the-flow type of movie that I enjoyed.
I actually like the ending since he was saved by being brought to another parallel world. It's so interesting and it's also the start of another plot and characters for the sequel. But I couldn't find where to watch the 2 and 3 of this movie :(
