I wouldnt trust douban ratings since there are lot of haters on that forum. But if you are going by them, DL has 700k ratings , fourth highest ever already. So lot of people are following it. And we are not talking about thousand views here. It crossed 3 billion views on tencent in 23 days. Plus this is already getting a second run on CCTV and fetching quite decent rating. Moreover its the only drama to break 3 in Datawin index this year (last year only 2 dramas did it). Plus it was on top of all the charts(Vlinkage, Datawin etc since it aired). And just for context it broke the record of Untamed in highest daily view at 211 million for a day. Untamed has 210 million.
So if nothing else it is quite popular and thats why I am optimistic

Go for it especially since you liked him in Untamed. The series is about friendship and growth of seven people. Of course its a fantasy but they explain everything from scratch so the new comers dont get confused. Xiao Zhan has acted his part amazingly here. He is the main lead and you see his growth from the first episode. Of course he looks amazing in each scene which is a bonus. This drama has lot of sweet moments and is quite fun to watch

I feel like people are not appreciating Rong Rong enough. She is such a well-written character. Adds so much life to the whole team. After Tang San, she is my favorite

Yeah I will be really pissed if they recast him especially if its because of the fear of Antis. I cant watch a drama from people who cant stand up to the bullies

This is a good drama especially if you are fan of Fantasy genre. This has good CGI and a nice plot with a unbelievably good looking cast. It is actually based on a novel but since the writer has changed script because of censorship, many of the novel fans are unhappy. If you have not read the novel/ watched the anime, you can give it a go from fresh. You can also try watching few episodes instead of relying on rating as there are not many ratings submitted for this yet.

Gosh that Xiao Wu trying to kiss Tang San scene was so funny. I can't wait to get my hands on English subs to understand it properly.
