I’ve always noticed that, from the moment I knew the story of Jang Ok Jung I hope they’ll soon adapt her story again, I think there would be plenty of ideas !
Why ?In my opinion, this is the best adaptation of the novel (I totally prefer it to the 2008 version)
Originally, there’s no rape in the novel. The 2008 version just slaughtered the whole story to make it some cliche slap-and-kiss where you don’t even get when and how they could fall in love with all the yelling, slapping, insulting, raping, etc.
Too bad I can't seem to find anything about this drama :/ even tho it looks interesting.. does anyone know anything…
It’s actually pretty good. There are flaws but the whole thing is actually very enjoyable and I like how it is obviously based on Pride and Prejudice but still explores other directions so that it doesn’t look like a copy-paste and gets more interesting
I liked Park Ban Ryu & Soo Yeon so much ! Ban Ryu was so arrogant at the beginning, a real jerk, but Soo Yeon had the ability to melt his heart of stone and make him a lovely boy in love ! He was actually very lonely but she could make him smile like a child

Actually, the main flaw is the female : she’s a stubborn fool, nothing to do with Elizabeth Bennet, and the actress has no talent I honestly prefered her rival, Caroline Bingley’s version, who was totally very complex and attaching compared to the original Caroline and much more compared to the female lead
In my opinion, her character was much more interesting than the female lead. I was totally rooting for her to end up with the male lead, despite knowing it wouldn’t happen 😭

Except that in most of Thai dramas, it’s much worse as the male lead often does it knowingly with little remorse
