Over the last few years, Ju Jing Yi had always played the same kind of character over and over again (the tomboyish, cute, supposedly smart girl in idol dramas, mostly ancient) As a result, I honestly think that her acting had stagnated and that she had stopped progressing as an actress (I remember she was stunning as a villain in Novoland Castle In The Sky, her character being even more popular than the female lead ; but after gaining fame in Legend of Yunxi, she always got cast in the same type of part) I am glad to see that when cast in such a challenging part, she is doing a great job !
From what I can tell, Zichuan is a world with many regions with different races/clans that are fighting each other.…
Wait, so there’s not even a defined kingdom or an official royal family ? The three branches of the Zichuan family kinda govern through the Zichuan land and have internal fights ? Jeez, no wonder i’m at loss, this is even messier than what I read in my Chinese history classes
Okay, i’m on the first episode and this looks great but i’m a bit lost on some things : - what position hold that old man Yang Ming Hua in the kingdom ? -What about the Zichuan family ? I mean, I find it weird that they’re not the royal family in a country that is named as them. - And what is their relationship with Yang Ming Hua ? Why is Yang Ming Hua so hostile towards Zichuan Xiu ? -Si Yi Lin lives with Zichuan’s uncle from what I understood. But as whom ? A servant, a handyman ? - What about Di Lin ? Since him and Zichuan Xiu are actually sworn brothers, why does he pretend to be on the old man Yang Minghua’s side ?
From what I’ve seen on Weibo, it seems that solitwo is right… This isn’t based on QSCK’s novel Which brings me to wonder : 1) since this wasn’t based on QSCK’s novel, how come it was saying everywhere that it was ? Why were the rumors about Liu Yu Ning and Li Yi Tong linked to this novel if it was something else ? 2) does that mean that Rebirth of an Ill-Fated Consort is still in the works or that this project is dropped ?
From what I’ve read until now, Shen Miao has the most satisfying revenges (what’s fun is that she often uses…
i agreed I guess this is also why her revenges often include rape and big violence on her enemies what she’s been through kinda « broke » something in her, awoke some madness in her I remember when reading the novel that I couldn’t help but kinda disapprove the fact that she would so often use rape, even if it were on people who used it themselves first ; but at the same time, I felt like even if I disliked it, I couldn’t really blame the character because what she had been through… urgh, it was just no surprise that she had kinda lost some sense (I just disliked the fact that the character would be willing to use other rapists for her revenge and let them be after she used them, which was akin to tolerate them ; but like I said, what happened to her kinda broke something so it kinda makes sense that she wouldn’t bother with them)
Anyone knows out of all Qian Shan Cha Ke's revenge novels, which one has the most thoughtful, scheming, and satisfying…
From what I’ve read until now, Shen Miao has the most satisfying revenges (what’s fun is that she often uses her opponents’s schemes to backfire on them) And Jiang Ruan definitely had the most physically painful death (her limbs were cut off, so was her tongue and she had to see her foster son get raped before dying)
I love Li Yi Tong but I have to admit that she's not spectacular beauty. I didn't read the novel yet but many…
Indeed, female lead is physically characterized by her amazing beauty : in her previous lifetime, it kinda burdened her, as it attracted jealousies but also unfair prejudices, for example being a brainless beauty (as her stepfamily made sure she would only be taught the kind of talents that only a courtesan would have, not a noble lady, but that she would make mistakes in public, leading people to think she was a good-for-nothing) or on the contrary, a femme fatale that brought disaster (after she was wrongly accused of having poisoned the emperor) I also don’t see Li Yi Tong as Jiang Ruan but I do think Guan Xiao Tong would be great : her looks and acting in The Curse of Turandot are definitely on par on how I would imagine Jiang Ruan
Then they will concentrate on the revenge part I guess. Romance part of story in Japanese dramas is usually pretty…
Yeah…. They used to do good romance in the 2000s and after 2010, I don’t know what happened, it’s like Japanese screenwriters had lost the ability to write good romance (they usually try to make it mature or realistic and as a result, it turns boring ; and when they try to make it fluffy or cute, it’s cheesy and tasteless) The only Japanese romance that they did and that I liked affecte for the last 13 years was the movie My Happy Marriage
Heard they might do a Japanese remake K-drama was great but from episode 11 onwards it went downhill and the writers kinda started mishandling the revenge and the romance If they ever do a Japanese remake, hope they can correct this and convey these amazing scenes !
Just hope that by then, they will have released the last adaptation shot, with Tong Meng Shi and Mao Xiao Hui
they totally nailed her beauty with that sober, simple make up
I’m not a fan of her usual looks in dramas but I think she’s stunning here
As a result, I honestly think that her acting had stagnated and that she had stopped progressing as an actress (I remember she was stunning as a villain in Novoland Castle In The Sky, her character being even more popular than the female lead ; but after gaining fame in Legend of Yunxi, she always got cast in the same type of part)

AND WE STILL DON’T HAVE SUBS?!

I’m kinda confused here…
I guess this is also why her revenges often include rape and big violence on her enemies
