The novel has an open ending, the female lead leaves.
It is implied that she kept the child and that she and Yuzheng eventually got together and even had another child. To say she never loved him is not true, it’s more like she didn’t love him as much as she loved his brother and she felt it was wrong to be with him after being with his brother. But I think she definitely had feelings for him (after all, they shared another night after the rape, one night where she was definitely willing, even though she felt guilty afterwards)
Another user also said that they liked Legend of Dugu so I’m excited to start it soon. The Legends uses “Legend”…
Well, it’s not extraordinary (because the lead couple is boring/annoying and the evil girl is such a bad actress it gave me headaches) but the plot and the twists have you hooked. I can’t help but compare it to Queen Dugu : Queen Dugu kinda tried to remain as close as possible to the to history but the plot was pretty boring and most of the characters were annoying. Legend of Dugu offers its own version of these events, despite not necessarily being the closest to reality, but it’s much more intriguing, we never know what’s gonna happen next and the palace intrigues keep you breathless (also most of the characters felt much more likeable than in Queen Dugu)
For now, amongst those in the list, I’d say Legend of Dugu is my favorite. Maybe I’ll change my mind after watching « The Legend of Xiao Chuo » Otherwise, there’s also The Legend of Chusen and The Legends (although I wonder if this one can be included, seeing the title)

But she really looks much younger than 34
