I have a terribly huge playlist but I'll try to keep it short 😂 1. Loved It's Okay To Not Be Okay's OST even though I didn't really like the drama 😅 It's full of amazing vocals, melodies and harmonies! 2. Go Ahead(cdrama) - the most soothing, inspiring playlist I've heard. Especially "Fearless" by Ma Di 3. Descendants of the Sun - especially "This Love" and "Once Again" 4. Goblin - this one is iconic. I still listen to "Stay With Me"(Chanyeol x Punch) and "Beautiful" (Crush) on repeat 5. You Are My Hero (cdrama) 6. 18 Again - loved the whole soundtrack, it was very heartfelt, with beautiful lyrics 7. Touch Your Heart - "Good Night"(SEWOON) "What if Love"( Wendy) and "Make it Count" (Chen)
Mi Ka from You Are My Hero. Loved her determination, intelligence, kindheartedness... she was so adorable without being childish or annoying! There was no overuse of makeup and she didn't look shabby, either. She was smart and made good decisions. The couple still stands as my favorite couple in Cdramaland! The FL of The Imperial Coroner was also wonderful... I love how she was innocent, adorable and sweet but not naive, childish or dumb. She was terribly smart in her own field, knew how to do her thing... and was the perfect investigation partner for ML. The entire drama was wonderfully refreshing. All the leads had fully functional brains! Special mention to the warrior Demon Princess from Ashes of Love. Loved her so much!
Rather than double standard, in my opinion, it about how the drama deliver and execute its premise. Many supposedly…
In my opinion, since kdramas are usually only 16 episodes long, their plot is tighter and better than most cdrama ones. They deliver and execute very well and everyone is used to their high standards. That's why they get judged for every minor plot hole or character.
I've observed that people's tolerance for cdramas is a lot more. Most cdrama FLs are ANNOYING and childish, so a little less annoying character automatically gets higher ratings. If this same characters was in a kdrama, she'd be judged completely and the rating will plummet, because we have comparatively more mature FLs in kdramas. I've also observed that cdrama PG13 is equal to kdrama 15+. Check for yourself, you'll see it too.
I liked this drama. I know why it has such a high rating— the relationship is healthier than most cdrama ones. But I also have to say that the story itself is pretty boring and dragged a LOT in the middle. By kdrama standards this one should be in the 7.8 - 8.0 rating slot, definitely not 8.4. The 8.4 rating puts it in the same league as kdramas like He is Psychometric, LOTBS and Player and ranks it ABOVE dramas like Terrius Behind Me, Suspicious Partner and Touch Your Heart. Though these dramas have their flaws, they definitely had a lot more going on than Perfect and Casual.
I loved that scene when Kang Hui gets bullied and she's sitting outside... I really though one of the boys would come to comfort her but was so surprised it was a girl! Glad to see writers starting up a good friendship instead of focusing only on romance! :)
The whole drama looks so beautiful! My blood boils whenever that pure trash of a father shows up on screen, but I love the kids so much 🥰 It's JUST my kind of drama!
The SML has to be the worst SML ever such an idiot... but then when I look at it objectively, he plays the same tricks as most drama MLs do... call the FL out for "work" and then do anything BUT.
I tried but FL's acting is so forced and the plot is unrealistic to the point that it's painful to watch. Everything…
I feel you :) I watch cdramas when I feel like turning of my brain, so I watch them in between thrillers/melos/ other deep kdramas.
I've watched tons of cdramas and I actually like this one more than most of the others out there. I don't mind illogical plots because my brain is off anyway and I take whatever reasons the writer gives as long as the outcome/relationship development is good. I'm glad ML is a nice guy... most of the other marriage-contract trope dramas have pretty possessive/controlling/too-flirty MLs with no respect for personal space that make me uncomfortable and constantly embarrass the FL. I like that this guy is nice to her(almost died of shock when he ASKED to hold her at the waist when they were rehearsing the wedding XD) and that he's also a dorky sweetheart 😂 and the drama DOES get better :)
Love in Time and Well-Intended Love: trigger warning. The MLs are terrible people if this was real life. Especially with WIL, the ML is HORRIBLE. I couldn't enjoy any of the cuteness once I knew what he had done. Please don't take this as a hate rant, I'm a person with high bossy-ML tolerance. The two MLs crossed a line that shouldn't be crossed.
Everything about this drama was wonderful... the storytelling, the beautiful vintage cinematography, the colors, the music, the fashion, the acting, and the screenplay. But I still feel the tragedy part was pretty useless. It left me empty and frustrated, unlike some really good tragedies I've watched. After a while, the way ML constantly insisted on leaving and FL constantly not listening starting to annoy me. I know some people feel like it's "realistic", but this just didn't work for me. I wished they would either just get up and LEAVE or stay with a full heart, no regrets. I also feel that because I had watched A Taxi Driver before this one, I expected more heart and sacrifice, more people being selfless than all the seemingly unnecessary romance.
