Not to excuse any of the ML or SML’s actions, but this is so that we can look at them as fully realized people rather than 2D character. When XHB met the new XHD, his story gets more dimension because he adapts to the changes of the story, being the ML. You can think of him like Chu Guihong in ADWAD
