These questions can’t be answered without major spoilers, but this story has more twists when the transmigration journey ends

I didn’t read the novel but I watched the donghua and they are adapting it faithfully, at least visually. Other novel readers say it doesn’t deviate a lot. And yes, without spoiling too much, in the real world the leads are around the same age :)

This show was mostly marketed to fans already familiar with the original and other adapted works so that’s where the confusion comes from. But the trailer that aired before it came out also showed the serious side of the show. So if you watch that maybe you could see the direction they were going to take?

You need to see the rest of the drama because his motivations are not revealed. If you’ve watched up to today’s episode you’ll notice he has established a network of his own so he has things going on outside the female lead. In fact his network is advising him to kill her. He’s been waiting for the female lead of the book to show up for 15 years, he needs to rely on her. But you’ll soon see that he can actually survive on his own, he just doesn’t want her to know the methods he uses to do it. But if you don’t want to watch that is your prerogative. This complaint is premature without the entire story laid out

I knew it would confuse people because the donghua pulled the same thing. The son was drawn exactly like XHD so you can only differentiate them with their clothes lol

eh, he’s not been a modern guy for 15 years. but also, that minister committed a capital crime by starving the army and putting sand in their provisions

I don’t want to spoil but basically she would be scared of the real him

The boat scene was so well done! I was moved to tears by Li Yunxi and Yu Wanyin

They got even better strategists but Xu Yao’s death was still sad :(

More than annoying he’s dangerous and has hated ML for a long time. Although I also thought Chu Guihong’s actor could have played him lol

Xie Yonger’s hairdo in the first five episodes was atrocious

She wasn’t shown as far as I know

me too!

As someone who has watched the donghua, I’m impressed by Cheng Lei’s acting choices from episode 1. However this is very fast paced

wow 8.9 is crazy

thank GOD it went to ji sung. lee seung gi???

He was not trained in the Yan household. Mr Yan plucked him from poverty

Crying for complex characters but can’t handle ONE. Mind you people the same people will praise xianxias that have FLs extremely bullied, assaulted and forced to suicide and the ML does nothing for them because they are forbidden from loving 🙄 Shanbao, make him work harder I say!

I think she has a plan.

Rong Shanbao you brilliant woman
