Someone mentioned the novel A Crane Among Wolves by Jun Hur below. It’s also based on the irl tyrant Yeonsangun but told from the POV of the sister of one of the girls he abducted and his fictional brother who tries to overthrow him. such a good YA novel btw

yes it’s really rare to surpass the source material when adapting it into a new medium. saw on twitter that it looks like they added new details. i’m all for changing stuff to fit the drama, but hope they don’t mess with the story too much. btw, since you’ve read the novel do you think iho and jinren are the same person?
