A first impression on this drama: The political aspect of this drama really intrigues me. It's well written, a bit complicated, but very interesting.
I like the FL, she's very strong. Her drive for revenge, martial arts capability and strong character is really refreshing to me.
The ML is alright tbh. I do like him, but after hearing about his "unhinged" personality in the manhua I'm not really intrigued by the drama version of him. I LIKE UNHINGED. I WANT UNHINGED.
I'm not getting a CP feel, but theres still more than 40 episodes sooo.... Personally I do dislike the fact that I feel like Ashile Sun only fell for her after he knew she was a woman. What if he still thought he was a man? He wouldn't fall for her! Would he?! But idk, that might just be the fujoshi part of my heart speaking haha
Also is it bad that I'm more into the 2nd couple ahaha... They havent had much screentime yet, but I just fell in love with this couple after their ONE interaction in episode 7. I usually hate the damsel in distress with a heroic man couple trope, but here I just love it.
OVERALL AMAZING THOUGH I can't make many comparisons to the manhua since I haven't finished it, but totally enjoying this so far. All my personal opinion ur welcome to disagree! I just want more episodes TwT
I felt a bit perplexed too. I mean obviously it’s a Cdrama so I didn’t expect them to use stones or something…
I dont believe the vegetables had a special meaning in any way, but they were probably rotten? I just know throwing rotten vegetables at someone is a sign of insult.
When there were people being punished, sometimes they were put in the middle of the street for humiliation. Then, people could throw rotten vegetables and eggs at them if they wanted. So, rotten vegetables do sort of hold a meaning.
Ah, I just remembered something. In the manhua, ChangGe got attacked by stones to the point of them breaking skin.…
Ohh thanks for the detail! In my opinion, its probably just easier to throw veggies lol. With rocks, they break skin, which means changing makeup, doing the special effects to make it seem like they actually hit, etc.
Or idk mayb they wanted to censor “gore” which I find unlikely.
He fell for her once he found out he was a she and a ex Princess at that. Why? Because he admires her courage,…
Yes, but I just feel like I wouldnt LIKE someone for that. Although it is possible considering it since women in ancient times were all quieter and obedient to men and Changge is very different. I just feel this wouldn't lead to a feeling of attraction? More of a respect, mutual trust, admiration, coworker ish bond, etc.
No, in the manhua, they fall in love quite slowly and they “confess” in a rather non-orthodox way. Only in…
Im not rly surprised cuz sadly a lot of dramas like to increase the romance factor and make it super fast. I wish they stuck to the manhua! A slower romance is much more realistic! I also find it a bit hard to believe that Ashile Sun, someone who is shown as very cold in the drama (and as u said, unhinged in the manhua) would fall this fast for someone.
I love this drama, and the actors are amazing, but am I the only one not getting the CP feels??? Like what I mean is based what I've seen so far, Ashile Sun fell for her wayy too fast for my taste. I would have prefered a more slow-burn for a drama thats so politically heavy. Is it like this in the manhua too???
Honestly though i felt a tinge of pity for Hao Du in episode 7! :’D omg when the princess was trying to stall for time and he kept trying to leave, but he has to listen to her cuz she’s the princess HAHAHA :’D :’D
Lol "what is the plot" is a tough question. I'd say the synopsis here is pretty straight forward. It is written…
Just a piece of advice, if the episodes are confusing to you, you could try searching up recaps on the episodes after you finish watching. I only had to do this for the first 2 episodes, because I had no idea wth was going on with the whole MXY sacrifice thing. However, dramas usually do start out very confusing, so just give it a couple more episodes and I think it will be easier to memorize all the clans and heirs and all that.
tbh i think its her role. Ive seen Lusi in basically all the cheerful bubbly FL roles but here shes a weaker girl and im not really into this role much.

Haven’t finished reading the manhua, but I’m disappointed at the difference in their dynamic in the drama
The drama is just trophy and idk i dont feel anything when the 2 leads are together
Is it like this in the manhua too???
