I'll add one more from lakorns where, when the ML doesn't like a FL who has her own views he threatens her by saying, keep quiet or else I'll r*pe you. It reminds me of boys who think women should always obey them or else they think calling them a feminist is an insult. Hopefully their parents or teachers will teach them that every human should be a feminist.

When I was new to MDL I thought these ratings were credible and ended up watching such bad stuff, and was left wondering before I learnt my lesson. I don't think I've ever come across any drama here with a rating of less than 6 lol

Exactly! Even MDL has articles where it uses words like 'scandal' when 2 actors are dating.

I was shocked when I first saw how powerful these stupid netizens are, they can actually destroy an actor's career. Do they feel proud if someone loses their job or takes an extreme step?
They are cowards coz they know that if they would even squeak against a politician, there will be consequences whereas actors are expected to forgive the antis. Even the courts are too lenient, just a public apology and a little fine and you are free to destroy the next successful actor -_-

Same for Korea. If only they would put their politicians on the same threshold and dare to interfere in their private lives. It's easy to target actors specially if one's career is going great.

If the FL talked and acted like a child, while the mature ML would fall for said child and keep chasing her, this drama too would get a rating of 9.
So 8.3 is actually quite good...

Dramas like WoF raise the bar. What a great job by the entire team. I can't believe it's over. Some day I'll watch it again.
And since I'm a fan of Yibo, I have to say that I feel proud of his career choices and how he continues to wow directors and fellow actors. He shuts up the antis/trolls by his work.

I hate this as well and so many c/k dramas keep on showing women getting drunk and ending up in someone's bed as pretty normal. And every time the girl is rescued by the ML whereas we know what'll happen in real life. If you really want to get drunk, go home and get wasted.

Most of the times it's clear that the writer has no idea how to make the ML know what the FL is thinking about, so the girl will get drunk and reveal her thoughts. Then there are dramas where the girl is not at all shocked for ending up in a stranger's bed and walks out, makes me think it's pretty normal for her. I hope the makers don't think that this is the definition of a modern woman. Like u wrote, it is slutty and gross. Not cute at all.

ever since I started watching c/k/j dramas I forgot all about DC n Marvel, so didn't even anticipate someone getting confused coz of it :D

They will judge and have every right to. But the next gen might really laugh at the cancel culture and how people get offended at the drop of a hat these days. This drama comment section has been sane in comparison to the fights I see in others. Even this one faced a few trolls but thankfully they disappeared lol

True!! This drama has cast actors so well that it doesn't even look like they are acting and even the dialogs hit the mark. After few episodes we're reminded of something that happened in a past episode and we're like oh!
just like the singer looking for her brother and today we found out who he is :(

I don't think I will have any sympathy for Lin when it happens and it should. It is disgusting what he has done.

This is why I don't like her. Ruo and Jin both tell her to stop but she doesn't want to learn. If she didn't see well behaved people (not just women) around her or if no one stopped her then we could say she didn't know what was normal.

I really can't wait for Ruo and Jin to find out he survived. Wonder how far Tu would have gone by then. His wife doesn't seem to have any power left on him coz like u wrote, his excuse is nationalism. Even his family doesn't matter to him as long as he can crush the other side.

I've seen many k-dramas where the FL keeps on hitting the ML and it's treated as comedy or even normal. Did not expect a c-drama to ape it.
It's not as if Ruo hasn't tried to stop her but she behaves as if she owns him. What if Ruo really didn't want to join the communists? Would she keep him tied up 24x7? This is bullying which even her father jokingly asked her to not continue.
I don't like people who cross the line, no matter what their upbringing or excuse is. Once you grow up, you should know how how to behave. But thankfully she doesn't talk like a child, which is my biggest issue with most c-drama women. Hopefully Yibo will never act in such a bad drama or movie where women are infantilized.

I understood Tu until these episodes. The scene where he hugs his wife claiming he will move out of the country, his eyes gave him away and I knew he was lying. Maybe in those days women were expected to be the man's tail and follow him everywhere but CiShu should have left with her daughter and let him serve the country. He is not a good family man at all and only cares about his ambition.

Fang Ling came from the same background but was decent so that cannot be the reason. Girls like Chun think it's fine to hit a guy coz he is gentleman enough to not push back. But even her father didn't teach her any manners so what can be done. It would not have been funny if a guy had tied up a girl and force her to join the movement without caring what she wants.

It was okay at the start but, Chun behaving like a guard dog all the time, forcing Ruo to join the other party when he obviously has doubts and needs some time off, is damn irritating. I know the makers thought she'll bring some balance or comedy to it but now I actually want to skip her scenes but can't coz Ruo or Jin are with her in those scenes.

Exactly! Terrorists target civilians but Xu was different. He rightly thought it was better to go while eliminating ones from the other side. I think we live such safe, secure lives that it's not easy to think of going that route which will also drag our family down. Ruo was absolutely right about the eyes...

I was worried the drama would lose steam coz it started so strong but it's still making us feel and think.

Going into rebellion or revolution itself is not easy. The person should know what all will follow, torture, blowing yourself up, your family getting dragged into it - needs guts and an amount of madness. Nothing is more or less.
