I'm about 5mins into ep 2 and already irritated by the female lead character. I hate people like her, so full of themselves and no consideration for others around them. I think the writer tried to come up with a goal driven, smart character with her but she's just a headstrong asshole at this point. Is she gonna change, if so around which ep? I just wanna skip watching her like this (assuming she changes).
I'm on ep 5 and already feeling the same feeling I felt when I was watching Reply 1988. The storyline is so different but the homey and warm feeling these two dramas give is exactly the same. Jian Jian's father just wants to be a father to all 3 of them and he really doesn't want to be reminded of not being blood related to the boys. Even tho he is just a drama character, I just want to protect him and his feelings at all costs. Their house is full of love and care for each other. Hope it stays the same until the last ep. I'm loving the relationship they have with their dads and each other. But 40 eps kinda scaring me a bit, i feel like it might lose its momentum at around ep 20+. Still crossing my fingers it doesn't stray too much, too long.
I just watched the 1st ep and it looks very promising but my question is... Who in their right mind decided to air only 1 ep a week? Like seriously...Nov 24? This drama is going to be airing until almost Thanksgiving, aaahhhhh.
There is gonna be a Korean remake of this drama with shorter runtime eps? I'm eager to see who's gonna be playing who. These actors and actresses did an amazing job in my opinion, it'll be hard to beat that.
OK, how many freakn' accidents can you have in one drama? Like seriously, why chinese writers love accidents, accidental kisses, dramatic pull in hugs, and weird af protagonist guy who seems to go after the main lead's wealth and position no matter what. They also love their childish, stupid, nothing but selfish sometimes even criminal/conwomen (main female lead characters) that viewers have to love at the end. I haven't finishes it yet but i will probably since I'm on ep 32, lol. I kept watching this drama because I really like the main actress.
This drama needs a higher rating. I don't typically watch period/historic dramas but this drama's storyline and the ending was well executed. The actors were impressive. Of course the ending is not like the typical endings that we expect to see in most asian dramas, but it suited well and I don't regret watching it. Recommend this 100%.
I just finished watching ep 1 & 2, now I'm scared to continue. Because I want this drama to stay a fantasy drama all the way not try to be a realistic melo drama at the end. I want her to stay alive and live with her husband and daughter. I like his current wife. She seems to be a good person though it's only the first 2 eps. But isn't she planning on signing a divorce paper?
If you don't want to feel frustrated or don't want to feel like you've waisted your time, STOP at 45:00 of ep 21 and don't watch the rest and the whole ep 22, just think ep 21 as the last ep with the runtime of 45:00.
I'm on ep 3 and already starting to get annoyed by the lead female character. I see that she is acting weird/like his dog as the synopsis mentioned but doesn't she still have her human emotions and feelings? Why can't she see his GF? Why can't she process that his gf could misunderstand her "weird" behavior? She is ruining his relationship with his gf and she is acting like she is not bothered by it at all. At this rate, if he breaks up w/his gf solely because of the mean female lead without any justifiable reasons, I would hate this character. Justifiable reason is his gf is a gold digger or cheating on him or she is not in love w/him as much as he is. Also, this lead female is so rude. She just left him at the dinner table at the restaurant without even saying sorry or I need to leave. Like where is her manner? She just stood up and left without saying a single word or even a glance at him.
I'm 10 min into the 1st ep and already not liking the idea of cakes and sweets are the only things that"fat" people crave or eat a lot. I mean sure they do make you fat but sometimes people gain weight due to issues not related to sweets/food. I gained weight right after back to back car accidents. I was really active before the accidents and all physical activities stopped suddenly due to the injuries. My weight gain was soo fast I actually thought I scratched myself while sleeping when I saw my stretch marks one morning. I had to deal with looks that basically say " You must like sweets and eat a lot." But in reality I rarely eat candy or any pastries. I drink carbonated drinks once or twice a year, same with pizza or any fast food. My problem was that I stopped my physical activity suddenly and I also ate once a day right before bed due to work and school. At the same time, I was taking so many medication and wore foot brace for year and a half. Even after losing the weight I still feel like telling people that they need to start understanding others before judging them based on their weight. Sorry I ranted on an off topic here, I just hope it doesn't go too far about weight gain reasons.
LOL, I've never seen so much kissing in an Asian drama before, let alone a Chinese drama. Almost felt like the two leads were a real life couple, ready to kiss on cue anytime. I personally liked this drama though.
In these Asian dramas if you are tanned and have curly then you are ugly. God forbid if you also weigh more than…
Exactly! Asian dramas seem to depict not just any curly hair, a specific curl as an ugly feature on women. Almost seem pretty racist towards African Americans or mixed people-afro like thick curls and darker complexion. Asian dramas even depict freckles as an ugly feature. Beauty standards and expectation in Asia is pretty messed up and these drama don't help at all either. I feel like people in certain asian countries worship western look way too much and try to look more like white people.
