At first I wasn’t sure if I liked the three shards story. But I continued and it was ok. It was integral to the story. While I know, that’ he is still Youqin, I feel like three new male characters can get kinda confusing. I totally get why Chao Feng called Youqin V2.0 number 5. Even I I had to take time to process from 1 YQ to 3 to back to 1. Haha

I shall during this Easter break.

@paxxie thank your for your comment. I think I shall refrain from further commenting after this. I did try to watch the the scenes with JJY as YCW.. It wasn’t working for me the way with the first actress. Maybe it’s because she came on first or maybe she had better chemistry with ML. These are all just my opinions and all these are from my perspective.

I understand that people are perfectly loving this drama and that’s wonderful. What I’m saying is that it would be refreshing to see a story with an FL coroner with a large face scar be the main protagonist rather than another doey eyed pretty looking character acting like she’s from the 21st century. . I understand this is cdrama and idol dramas need to have pretty people. So that’s that. I am disappointed that “only pretty people survive” meaning a character who has facial blemish isn’t the main character in cdrama . Because idols and pretty people bring in viewers . It’s really just that.

I shall have to wait for another costume Liu Xiu Yi drama to air to get my fill.

I like Lin Mo story line but same as the firs series. He is only in half of it.

Am on episode 33 after the wedding. I’m deciding whether to continue or not. Obviously I’ve read the spoilers. I don’t know if my heart can’t take the remaining story arc.

I loved every bit of the drama up to here. Even if the three shards story dragged somewhat. I can still accept it. But then rest, I’m not ready.

I shall try and read. I do agree with you that the first 2 episodes has a positive message. Since ML still likes her despite her looks. FL is smart and has a good heart. So why face asap. Even without the face swap, it would’ve been even more engaging.

But I’m still not able to move past changing the actress for JJY. Will come back and read ending spoiler when the drama ends so I still get to find out what happens.

I’ve tried JJY many times but can’t. So I just avoid. I was totally on the fence whether to start this one. I like Liu Xue Yue. But I can’t continue.

This drama is doing a massive disservice to an otherwise uplifting story. Somehow they’re still saying only the pretty perfect people survive.

Just watched until OG Cai Wei actress dies and will stop here. It’s a very interesting premise and the investigation story is good. I feel the story would’ve been better served by keeping the original CW instead of face swapping. It shows how FL overcame odds even when her face was disfigured. That would have been more empowering and give a positive message. Rather than face swapping with a prettier actress.

Signing off. Would’ve wanted more ML but can’t get into JJY as Cai Wei.

She sees FL as the root cause of disagreements between the brothers. Or maybe their downfall. First she noticed 4th and 14th so she went to the Emperor to get her married to 13th. She feels the 4th loses his calm cold composure when it comes to FL. That's why she's got to go.

Is this coming out this year? Looking forward to Allen, Landy and Jeremy. At lease Allen Ren's hair here is nicer than in Burning Flames.

Just finished this. Love the OST and enjoyed the series. Overall it was an enjoyable watch. Xiao Wei and 13 were good together. Although I did like 4th prince also. I think he portrayed the character well. The only parts that bored me were the 8th prince group plotting scenes and Ming Hui. Would recommend those thinking of watching to go and watch. They won’t be disappointed.

Watching 2nd episode. So far so good. I just can't seem to get into Ding Yu Xi's character. Too much makeup and eyeliner. It's very distracting. But I will still watch. I hope I can get over it.

Was watching the previews and Ding Yu Xi's shoulder pads are so distracting. Looks so fake. I will wait for a few more episodes to to drop before I start watching.

I tried to watch this because I saw Zhang Yue Nan was here. I ended up fast forwarding to scenes which had her. Which wasn't many so I ended up not watching. Zhang Yue Nan needs to be cast in more dramas.

Just finished ep11. I can't wait for the last episode. I wonder how they will wrap it up. This deserves more views than the run of the mill standard idol dramas.

CGI could be better but I can deal with it. It's not distracting.

True. That character needed to be there as a plot device. I get it. The actress no. They should have just done a made up story about them not being foreigners. They could be Chinese pirates. Could be a man. Anything just not her. And when clicked on her name, it says she won some awards. Huh? With that acting?
