I’m starting a rewatch. I need to some happy togetherness after coming from The Longest Promise. This kinda reminded me. Not exactly shifu but more mentor type.
It’s not exactly perfect but has rewatch value thanks to Wang Kai and Seven Tan.
Finished drama on Monday. I couldn’t sleep even if I had a massive headache from all the crying and it was really late. Friday today. I am now finally calm and at peace with the drama ending. It only took me 4 days to recover and heal. I feel so silly for saying this but I’ve never been like this for any drama ever.
It was beautifully done. And I will always look back and laugh at myself and remember this time as the time I lost my head over a drama.😂
I feel you. Whenever I hear the theme song. I start to tear up. I’ve been reading posts here and the Chinese…
I actually managed my ending expectations already so I wouldn’t be in anguish. This is already me with ny more sanguine reaction . Hahahha:
Same here. It’s bittersweet. It has to fit in the story they were trying to tell. I get it. And yes they did put in those hints. To guide you as to why that was the conclusion. So yeah. Bittersweet but still happy for the ending I weaved from my imagination.
Did you see the explanation on why SY went back to the tent and tore off the last page when he gave her that guidebook? That was a good one.
am i the only one who isn't satisfied with the ending.. it's been days but i still want some explanation. a special…
I feel you. Whenever I hear the theme song. I start to tear up. I’ve been reading posts here and the Chinese sites re discussion on HE or BE. And how the official accounts are positing it as BE. I refuse to believe so not lurking there anymore.
I suggest you watch another drama to get over it.
I will need to stop lurking at the forums and just be happy with the conclusion I decided for myself. Happy ending. Will rewatch and end at ep 39. Then will watch another happy ending historical drama to get out of this funk.
Thank you to TLP for an amazing two weeks. But I think I will stay away from xianxia fantasy in the near future. My heart cannot take open endings like this.
Aside from this the only other drama I wanted to watch was Love Never Fails. Looks like that one likely not to air. Sad but relieved at the same time because I know I won’t be able to stay away but my heart cannot take anymore. Now I remember why I don’t watch fantasy. 🤦🏻♀️
That's good for you. I binged 9 episodes in one day😭 I still can't move on from this drama💔
Me too. Rewatching from the beginning. While waiting for all the express episodes to be done so I can watch on a bigger screen.
I love love love this drama. I don’t watch fantasy. I haven’t finished any fantasy xianxia drama. I tired Love and redemption but couldn’t finish. But this one when I saw the trailer, I was like I need to watch this. Didn’t know anything else about it except master disciple forbidden somewhat relationship and them becoming on opposite sides.
But the story is so much more than that. Unlike many others, I really loved the first half of drama. Things are moving at an easygoing pace and then in the last 10 episodes they will knock you out. They really built it up for you to see why SY and ZY love each other.
They really put in a lot of thought and effort into producing this drama. So that everything becomes more impactful when seen on screen. I mean look, drama is done and we’re still posting right? 😄 They did an amazing job with this one.
While I want the ending in the novel, they still did well with the changes to the screen adaptation. Purposeful and impactful. They wanted to send a message.
1. SY didn’t believe in the prophecy. One’s actions determines one’s fate. 2. Big love vs small love. Need to think how to translate from Chinese first. But the sentiment of country/society first before personal. SY did it. He sacrificed himself for Kong Sang. For the bigger picture. ZY also learned that when she had to stab SY. 3. SY mom wants him to grow up with the correct values and not to avenge her death. DSM finally realized that he just wanted SY safe and alive rather than dead trying to avenge. ZY mom ate the snow to protect ZY. Parents just want their kids to be healthy and happy and safe.
I shall add when I think of others. There’s a lot of positive messages in the story which I thoroughly appreciate.

1. When ZY finds out Shifu is the prince
2. Wishing tree scenes
Don’t worry. I’m not done yet. I’m still rewatching ML and FL scenes. But there’s no more empty hollow feeling. Not devastated anymore.

That was a great one. “Why do you practice magic, to protect those in danger. “ 👍🏻

Stop. This is getting too long. 🤪
