It's a lot complicated in the novel, but to simplify, the ending was she's with Xiao Han in the village for quite a while until her body couldn't take it, Xiao Han took her to the nearby county hospital. This drama is all over the place. You can tell the director wanted to give it a noir vibe but it has the typical cdrama comical acting and silly plot so they can't keep the vibe and cinematography they wanted. And the story is just a mess. What even is the main plot of this drama?? I'm writing this right after watching ep 15 where there's a major twist and suddenly we got a whole new different plot.

Ugh that's annoying. She's such a crucial part of the story too. I genuinely thought I was distracted while watching so I missed a scene.

I'm gonna drop this after watching 1 and half episode. I don't like how there's no clear genre for this drama. It's confusing what were they trying to tell.

But can someone explain to me why is ML a gangster? The gang he's in are not his family members right? And he didn't want to be a gangster since young. So what made him work as one?

I read the reviews and comments here before watching so I knew the final episode will be bad. But even with that mental preparation, I was absolutely flabbergasted. Wtf was that 😭

Watched this with 2x speed while having meals and I still can't stand how bad it was. The actings are so cringy. The plot and the tropes are so outdated it makes me wonder if this was produced in 2014.

My main issue with the drama is it feels like they have never ending problems. They barely get to be happy/cute for few scenes before a new conflict arises. It's so frustrating to watch.

If the novel is more on the happier side I might want read it. And do the novel have mature elements in it?

I'm at ep 10 and considering dropping it. I feel drained watching this. So many conflicts, angst, and tensions. I thought this would be a youth/growth drama.

There are thousands of Chinese dramas out there and youth genre only made up of small fraction. If you think all Chinese drama are about youth it's because you only seek for that genre.

I asked the question above because MDL description are not usually accurate and I want answer from someone who's actually watching this drama.

Is there plenty of romance in this drama or their focus is just friendship?

I thought I wouldn't care about the lack of kiss in this drama but as I watched I understand why everyone is angry about it. The plot of this story supposed to be sensual. The kiss scene supposed to happen because the dialogue demand for it. Its not a typical drama where a peck happen after they got together or what but it's literally the entire point. When they removed the essential scene, the story became choppy. Let's blame the production team instead of the actress though. They shouldn't hire her if they knew she won't do any kiss scene.

It's still a fun drama though. It's just frustrating to watch.
