i’m on ep 5 may I ask why was wu wangyan crying in the confrontation scene right after xiaowei’s dialogue? didn’t expect her to be shedding tears atp but it’s the goddess CDL so who cares about the timing!

okay I’ve watched the BTS and they don’t do dubs which is refreshing for someone like me who’s drowned in cdrama this past few years… they’re all doing really well!!!

https://scribbledstories514.wordpress.com/2026/03/26/pursuit-of-jade-c-drama-review/ My 10/10 Review
love the review! although true enough, the edit made the writing/script more choppy in the last stretch, which I fully blame on the censorship board for their 40-episodes mark in the recent CDramas of today.. the possibilities of the stories and subplots being more fleshed out as they were done in the final cut if this were a 50-60 or more episodes will be my roman empire for a while.. where can we sign up to petition for a director's cut pls😭

someone replied to me on reddit and they said in the novel, it truly happened!! we're also not hallucinatingg. also, if you could rewatch the parts, XZ was wearing the same thing he was wearing while eavesdropping with FCY when he visited his uncle, so he came back the same day omg! I'd also like to believe him saying "no" with FCY when our General Huihua asked him if he'd like to go in doesn't equate to not ever visiting him.. maybe he needed time to breathe and take all the truth in, and a space for just him and his uncle who he once looked up to as a child..

also loved how the post-credit scene showing the two moms would've been besties if not for the massacre circles back to xie zheng unconsciously catching changyu’s hairpin and changyu later saying her mom could've wanted her to save him…. my hearttttt

same question! was thinking about this since finishing the last ep earlier. it's quite depressing if it truly were just his imaginations that Xie Zheng sent him off for the last time... what made me partially think that it truly happened was Xie Zheng's last, lingering look at him. usually, in dramas that has imaginations like this, the other person involved would be smiling, but in his mind/memories/delusions, Xie Zheng, for a second, was torn to part with him accompanied with the deeeep breath.

haven't read the novel but in the novel they say she's a transmigrator but if you'll reach the end of the drama,…
have you finished the last episode yet? don't worry, this storyline isn't explored more so I think them adding the scenes that imply this yet not directly revealing it is a nice nod to the novel at the same time a fitting tying up on their end for us to not be jarred by the random info hehe

same thoughts! though wei yan's actions of putting the blame on his ex-comrade, wei qilin and later trying to…
yes same! I thought I knew where he’s coming from in the early episodes of him trying to get xie zheng killed and him also being torn because of this because he loves his nephew who’s his greatest pride and blade. but he was also afraid of this blade pointing at him while he's holding the nation from collapsing. (though I think this is one of the parts of the series that was truly fleshed out. from the early episodes to the last ones, we can see him keeping xie zheng's wooden spear close to him in his study while also delegating his plans that contrasts how he cared for his nephew.)

but after he said all that in ep 40, I was truly dumbfounded. to add to that confusion, I just read a comment above that it was wei xuan who orchestrated xie zheng’s assassination attempt in the episode 1.

I’m with you in thoughts as to why things weren’t ironed as well as I expected them to be after the coup he staged. Maybe we truly need to rewatch ASAP 😭

Is chancellor wei the bad guy? I don't think this question is a spoiler so not marking it.
won't spoil you the fun in finding outt but I think among those who lived after the Jinzhou massacre 17 years ago, it isn't a matter of "who's the big bad wolf" & "what is black and what is white" but what truly happened and how the circumstances then forced everyone to commit what resulted into now hehe.

What was that homecoming scene? Was it a dream or a visit to some sort of afterlife? So strange!
it's like how FCY's imagination if Lin'an wasn't massacred. to me, it was like how she wished to return to her home with all the familiar people in it. but now that she's really returning to Lin'an, only the feeling of having those who passed around lingered. it's also like how rose dreamed in the movie Titanic at the end!
