Hi, Sierra! So, he's introduced as the obedient foster son of Du Ruhui (Li Shimin's advisor) who's also incredibly loyal to him that he could even sought out Li Shimin's precious niece (our FL), Changge, to wherever she goes to k-word her since Du Ruhui thinks she poses as a threat to the current sovereign and Sui Dynasty. Along the way, Leyan (Zhao Lusi) who's Changge's cousin, hinders him since the two princesses were the closest growing up. During these times, something happened to Leyan which led to Hao Du (Liu Yuning) find her for a long time and becomes her 'bodyguard' ever since what happened to her. So, their arc mainly revolves around Leyan blocking Hao Du's way to Changge every time & Hao Du chasing her (& Changge on the side lol). You can watch the rest since I'm spoiling too much hehehe.

Totally fair! It’s definitely not everyone’s cup of tea, especially since so many scenes are told that way and it can really feel anticlimactic at times. Like, they could’ve just shown Leo Wu with his gorgeous brown waves fighting for half an episode and I swear I wouldn’t dare blink just to catch every glorious second hahaha. So, I totally feel you since I just finished it yesterday, the one moment that really got me was *SPOILER* when they staged the Eagle Division's death and we didn’t even get to see the actual fight?? I also feel like it was such a wasted opportunity since we're nearing the end!! During scenes like that, I couldn’t help but think of dramas like FoF and MJTY too which nailed the fight scenes with dynamic camera work and angles that make you not want to look away.

I believe it was a deliberate choice to pay homage to the manhua "Chang Ge Xing" it was adapted from & even provides a different touch especially the war scenes when compared to other dramas.

Zhang Wanyi is an absolute revelation in Are You the One! I honestly can’t imagine anyone else bringing Cui Jiu / Lord Huai Yang / Cui Xingzhou to life the way he did. Will definitely look forward to more of ZWY, I'm officially a fan!!!
