this drama is rated above 8 in douban, which is really good considering this is a modern romance drama. for someone who loves sports centered drama, this is truly a captivating show. wu lei did a phenomenal job as an athlete in this one. i didn’t find any boring moments in this drama.
i love this series. the first time i watched it, i felt a little bit too much with the amount of Sang Zhi said “ 我已经长大了”. recently i rewatched this series, it got a little bit better and i could understand more why Sang Zhi always mentioned that, even after she started dating Jia Xu.

liu xue yi always has a villain role for almost all of his dramas, i saw him everywhere to the point that i can’t imagine him portraying a protagonist or non-villain role. i think the directors love to cast him as a villain 🥲
looking at the director and screenwriters’ past works, there’s no drama that i’m familiar with except LY7T. also, only LY7T is rated above 8. with all the stellar cast, i hope they’ll do justice for the whole production and not ruining such a perfect cast for poorly written plot. i hope this drama will have a good plot and production. it’s one of the most anticipated dramas next year.
been disappointed with gong jun and dilreba’s dramas lately. i always hope they can have a good drama, with a good script, director, and (especially) scriptwriter. i miss dilreba in her 2020-2021 because all of her dramas were so good.
i’ve been putting this on my watchlist since the trailer was released, but at the end of the day, another drama that the scriptwriters tried to ruin all the good things they have. this drama has so much potential to become big if only we don’t have that cliche trope about the ex-boyfriend and twin sister. they could wrap it in 25 eps at max. this one could be a hit if they didn’t ruin such a good relationship.
i do really hope we'll have another drama similar like this one in the near future. everything in this drama is a perfect balance of romance and angst, with outstanding performance from all the cast.

that's me when i watched the first and second tribulation, but he gradually changed to be less annoying and more supportive towards the FL and ML. his scenes decrease as the drama goes, so please keep watching!
Is the love triangle annoying/causes a lot of misunderstandings?
i honestly can't say it's love triangle because the FL only loves ML, she doesn't give mix signals to SML. but the SML is annoying in the first arc and a few eps in second arc, but later he gradually changed to be a better person, less obsessive towards FL, and even supported the FL and ML.
i love this drama so much. yes, there are flaws in this drama, but story-wise it's one of the best xianxia dramas all the time. tbh i was hesitate at first to watch this drama because some criticisms about YCY's acting and annoying side characters, but i'm glad i decided to start this because if not i would have missed such a good drama!
about YCY's acting, imho i feel like she did a good job for almost all of her parts, except some emotional scenes, like in ep 32. objectively the director should make a clear direction as well for that scene. sometimes i was confused if YCY couldn't deliver the emotional scene very well or the director put her in place like that.
but when YCY acted as Cang Hai, she portrayed her role very well, even in the emotional scenes. it's like seeing a whole different person through her acting. her acting even makes me forget about her lack of expressions in some previous episodes.
overall, i don't think YCY deserved to get lots of hate for her acting in LY7T. she's good, though needs to improve a lot. as for some people comparing her with DYX, i can't lie that DYX is really phenomenal in this drama, he improved a lot and delivered his role in every tribulation with exceptional performance. this is, by far, the best DYX's drama. DYX and YCY have a really good chemistry as well, on and off screen. side by side, they make a powerful couple (especially when they played as Chu Kong and Cang Hai from 30.000 years ago).
for annoying side characters, there are not many, but the SML took my nerves in the first arc. at least, i'm glad he has a character development and it's a believable one.
