I think this is a very good drama that has a very good casts who did such a good job in bringing life to the character…

It's really a bummer seeing comments criticizing the show + the characters when they had not even finish it/ try to understand the context. I think it's difficult to achieve a flawless production...because perfection is subjective. Really liked how you said we shouldn't be harsh on what's suppose to entertain us :)
has to be that murderous mother in law or that maid beside her MIL. Her MIL hatred of her just does not make sense
not sure about this because i dont see any intention for the MIL to harm Shiyi's mother since she was quite fond of her sister aka Yuanniang? And she didn't know Shiyi before she married in so I dont really see intention though? My guess currently is Qin Yi Niang LOL. Probably she is Ou's family's spy, or maybe she was brainwashed or smth? Shiyi's mother probably witnesses something she shouldn't had and died? LOL idk just my guess, but Qin Yiniang seems sus to me
caught up with the latest ep and while I am not liking the classic tropes (divorce + misunderstanding parts)which I see in many c-historical dramas, I am actually very curious for the remaining 15 episodes?? There's definitely a big boss hiding somewhere in Xu household, exposing of Ou's wrongdoings + unravelling of the truth behind Shiyi's mother's death. There is also a jail + almost execution scene in the trailers which I heard will be the most heart-wrenching part but I am almost sure this drama will be a happy ending. I just want to see Shiyi and Houye sweet moments (there are still alot of unreleased sweet footages) and them being happy with theirs kids LOL
this story reminds me of story of Minglan, but i really love how Seven's character had her own opinions and is not afraid to speak her mind. She entered the household mainly for her mum's death. At this point, I still have no suspect in mind tho on who will harm her mother?
As for the male lead, I think its okay for him to be married with kids given the ancient settings. His marriage are purely political/obligations instead of true love etc? Like he ended up marry Shiyi cus of YuanNiang's wish. Obviously he isn't into any of his wives, so this makes Shiyi different i guess, They will be each other's soulmates kinda trope which I love. lol
but seriously aside, i think those concubines live quite a tiring life of scheming and fighting lol. i think i would have died if i was one of them haha

Basically spoiled myself and i am so reluctant to finish this drama. While I cant understand the plot holes/ recycled plots, it's undeniable that the PHR created a very likeable HJP (at least for most). At least KSH got his deserved recognition through this drama...

i had watched all PHR's drama since Dream High and had no problems with the main couple she was pushing in each show (e,g DH when they switched from Taec to KSH i was ok)... but I think this is the first drama of her's that I felt more main lead vibes from the SML?? And compared to the past dramas she wrote, this is really lack luster so far since they focus so little on the business aspect of the drama which i believe was the theme the drama??
Anw, just noticed back then in DH, Suzy & Taec were from the same agency and KSH wasn't a household name yet back then but he still ended up with the FL LOL. Also, noticed PHR loves recasting the same ppl (e.g Suzy, LJS) so..
hi both, the videos translation are right but i am not how credible these videos are. I had saw some posts circulating online that due to some ploy from Duke An (i think), XJ was forced to divorce FR and marry the princess. However, during the wedding day, there was yet another ambush to sabotage XJ? FR helped to save the princess but end up falling down the cliff with XJ. As for the scene with FR in wedding dress, i think there is a second marriage afterwards (to make her the main wife), but there are also some ploys and stuff that cause the coffin scene etc. Just hope it aint so heartbreaking then :(
loving the chemistry between both leads since LOY, am secretly hoping both leads can reunite in a modern drama though!! We are half way through this and i am hoping more screentime between the leads... :(

P.S my favourite PHR drama is I Hear Your Voice
