This is so typical. If he’s just now getting negativity, he’s lucky after so many years of acting. If negativity is just about his looks that’s common. At least no one is targeting him with fabricated criminal or sexual diseases claims and doing it for years. His is only specfic to this drama.

The rating never really changed from start to finish even though eventually MDL dropped it back to 9.1 while no movement in currently watching or completed. It’s like they eventually moderated the hype in the scores. Later The only thing changing was the currently watching dropped from 9.38 to now 9.23 and should drop at least slightly below 9.2 to make final scores makes sense but the pattern seems backwards or fixed that a completed score is not impacted by currently watching score. Dramas with 8.5 and higher always the currently watching is lower than completed which reflects enthusiasm of higher scoring dramas. I supposed this drama was so hyped that the pattern is backwards for dramas with perfect scores. It’s not as common but final score can be the same as completed but they can’t really drop it anymore without further dropping currently watching so I doubt that will happen without impacting 9.1 which I doubt will change. MDL decides what score to put up from day 1 to final determination and adjust patterns in their currently watching and completed to match patterns. Otherwise it can’t make sense currently watching is more excited than those completed it for high scoring drama.

Well there happens another artist in same agency suddenly taking 6 month hiatus due to fatigue and same contract expiration and also has not secured a script . Xu Kai though made it clear in 2024 that he wants to slow down. There is also another seasoned actress still reading scripts worrying her fans. It’s common when you reach a certain stage in your career you can be more selective. His contract is due to expire in a few months. He’s also at that stage in his career evaluating next stage. When actor can slow down, be more selective , take more risks, that’s a good thing not bad thing. It means they’ve made it unlike rising actors take everything and work back to back riding momentum like what Xu Kai did. A famous director said he wishes young actors can film less and go experience life can help them in acting. I don’t understand why people inject their own values into Xu Kai’s career choices like they know what’s best for him.

it’s a pattern I watch for on all dramas. I think MDL manipulate data so it follows a pattern. Ever since a particular drama when I new to this site started to track it daily I noticed this about MDL. I believe this drama would have gotten a very high rating but. MDL wanted to make it 9.2 but now reconfiguring data to match 9.1. For this drama no problem rating is great but they do it to other dramas going the other direction like giving it a 7.5 from start to finish then recalibrate to match patterns. I think in another week it should match which is taking unusual long time. That’s what strange

the currently watching will go below 9.2 to fit the patterns except this one does it ever so slowly which is highly unusual but once it settles in who would ever know.

Inexperience??? It’s the ML’s 5th drama and second ML’s 3rd drama. Unknown at the time but experienced. They already been acting for 2 to 3 years just didn’t break through until this drama. No one knows the budget. All rumors.
