the original scriptwriter said she spent an entire year, and the project was chosen as S or S+ whatever that is, based on her script but right before filming they trashed her work and hired a new writer the director has worked with before to start over with a new script. They literally changed everything, so she didn't' get any credits. So, she's mad and insinuating that it had to do with Bai Lu to make the drama a 30K hit for her, they needed to rewrite it, but of course, It's all about profits in the industry. Well, the director obviously didn't want her work but she' mad because the project Tencent selected her script and now she has no credits. Yu Zheng jumped to Bai Lu's defense. I think he did it for the director and screenwriter because he has close ties to them, he has collaborated with them in the past and want to keep good relationship. If the director feels that her script doesn't' fit the female lead, of course she has to make it work. Complaining and blaming the actress makes her look like a sore loser.

you man eerie in a light-hearted way until it blows up

Every drama needs a mix of characters, funny moments before the horror and tragedies. If you see humor, you know sad is on the horizon. This drama so far has shown that it was to mix it up. But the comedy doesn't really make me laugh though. It's sort of dry, sometimes deadpan, which is not easy to do right, you have to have the right expressions and timing is everything. Some people are just naturally funny.

intense feelings is putting it mildly. He said he would jump into the pond and kill himself, but the actor is not convincing. Like the whole time, I didn't believe him at all.

all the cdramas I've watched have flashbacks but not as much narration as this drama, with characters telling their story

it's why Douban won't report a score until the ratings look stable unlike MDL; however, water armies at work makes their job hard to calibrate it accurately too. I have no idea how they can tell which ratings are real. Right now this drama is getting bombarded with 1 stars, but hopefully Douban can weed it out. If it gets Douban above 6, then that's pretty good given how chaotic ratings can be. If you take a random sample everyday , you get a pretty good idea.
