The original web novel Lan Xiang Yuan is explicitly a rebirth and soul-transmigration story. So, I think this drama is also her breakout work as a director. The screenwriter is the head of the production company, and she trusts these two in‑house talents to deliver her story exactly the way she wants it done. The screenwriter Tong Hua is well known in the industry for being the original creator and author of Scarlet Heart and Lost You Forever, but her she is not the original creator of ATC. ATC is adapted from a novel written by someone else. ATC has the best of all worlds in airing on Sep11 (Fri) with 31 episodes for part 1. Tencent can air finale on Sep 24 (Thu) day before mid-autumn festival 3 day weekend 25-27 (Fri-Sun) when people are traveling, they can watch while during waiting around and once they settle down with family they binge watch. CCTV can air finale Sep 26 (Sat) in mid-autumn festival families turning on tv's. And the drama will get several days of hype after the finale heading into golden week national holiday Oct 1-7 when more people will binge watch. This window also allows them to air part 2 before golden week if they wanted to.

I recall rumors for STOB was Sep 12 days before ATC announced Sep follow by rumors Sep10/11, and suddenly the day before ATC officially announced Sep 11, STOB delayed the promos and rumors of Sep17. But they really shouldn't air it past Sep 18 so it can finish by Sep 30. You need hype going into golden week. There’s even more anticipation for new dramas after Golden Week (Q4).

The two dramas are very different, and I think the audience is very different. ATC will command a huge Chinese audience given the screenwriter, the women story, and TSY is very popular in China, but SOTB I think can go viral if the execution and chemistry is excellent. SOTB has a solid director behind it. I think he can make the drama more exciting than the novel. ATC has a very well know writer who is also controlling the project tightly using in house directors to ensure its quality because she's also the boss of the production. It looks to be a gripping story. Both dramas will be gripping in different ways.
