Guardians of Dafeng is pure comedy, meant to be enjoyed for fun. With slapstick elements, the acting is a bit overstated to emphasize the humor. Seeing comparison to JOL is in itself hilarious.

The drama is full of moments that either set the stage for intimacy or hint at it, all done tastefully and tantalizingly to align with the storyline.

If Xu Kai's Mandarin is deemed acceptable by CCTV to promote educational content of cultural and historical significance, then it stands to reason that he should be able to dub himself in costume dramas.

When people hate on an actor like this it only makes me want to check her out. That’s how I discovered what a gem Xu Kai is. She’s obviously very talented.

Xu Kai participated in that China historical stage performance using his own voice. Since it’s Xu Kai critics are just waiting to call him out and I don’t recall seeing any online complaints. Whether he dub or not people will
Criticize him so he should dub. It will only be his second experience in studio full dubbing
After filming. He should only take projects that allow him.

From my observation Xu kai has the most hate of any C-actor (unusual amount) so if his accent is as bad as you say his last two dramas would not have been this successful so I tend to think he needs to keep using his own voice to overcome what accents he still has. Also I believe he has the ability to hone his delivery so that it will overshadow what flaws remain, that’s why I think he has to keep using his voice to grow his skills regardless of negative criticisms. I think he’s going to get there and surprise people. Everything Xu Kai does is original. He knows what he wants to do. There are pros and cons in everything and even though he didn’t get any formal training but for someone like him he can be creative not stuck to standard way of acting. It allows him to be more original. He says he’s only soso but to me he’s got natural talent

This drama story is nothing like any of the Paladin series at all. That’s what makes this story unique among sword and fairy game fans who have wanted this story to get more visibility as it had technical issues when it came out and the game never really took off unlike SAF4 which was very popular game and well known. This adaptation has been very special to them. They have praised this drama adaptation greatly. The producers struck a good balance between keeping the original storyline and lines and scenes yet making it an interesting and enjoyable moving drama. The best part of this drama is the acting and chemistry of the entire cast. All the characters have loads of personality in the game and I feel the actors brought it to life.

Who doesn’t like Han Ting’s assistant? Such a loyal, composed, stable, and competent figure. You have to be to work for HT. He’s straight forward and expressionless yet came across with a personality and his lines came across with a subtle sense of humor about him and the character becomes lovable to me. He knows how to indirectly poke at HT so he doesn’t feel it, like he can read his mind. What would HT do without him?

Two brilliant and opposite people whose fate and destiny are intertwined in the same high tech medical AI industry, one is an industry ruthless leader who wants to change the industry and the other is a socially compassionate engineer who wants to help people. Their career and personal conflicts with each other as neither will give in to their original goals in life for the sake of love will cause them to learn how to go forward with each other and they live happily ever after just like in fairy tales maybe even better than fairy tale. The business story is as strong as the romance story. The romance is extremely tastefully tantalizingly done. The drama is filled with meaningful memorable lines especially in business and love.

I used to think MDL actually mattered now I know better.

Honestly 7.6 versus 7.5 is as insignificant a delta as it gets in the entire universe of things!!!

For me the actress did a great job with Zeng Di. ZD really stood out for me in this drama. For me Xu Kai Kai showed versatility in displaying various relationships, as he always does in all his dramas.
