imo, Ao Ru Peng has more of Dylan Wang 's expressions and movements (maybe not the mouth so much but the gaze) than Xu Kai, and he is cute and charming too. I first saw him in Wrong Carriage Right Groom, he was very charming in that role, otherwise I wouldn't be able to watch that.

This is my own interpretation. Even though HT mixed business with personal, at least in the drama, his intentions were to leave XingChen alone. He would have allowed Hanhai and XingChen to compete even though he has investment in both. He had great faith in JX. He allowed her to figure out her product offerings and market positioning to compete or not to compete with Hanhai.. He never interfered in her business except he wanted updates and offer advice. If she couldn't make it, then she would have to accept a merger down the road, but he was always going to allow her to run her own company and chart her own course and decide her own fate with XingChen. HT had a lot of faith in her as an innovator and someone who defy odds. But his cousin attacks forced his hands. He had no choice but to merge XingChen to save it. The heavy price he paid for it does not make sense on paper but that just means he valued her innovation and talent that much.

Love the scene of HT visting grand aunt because the acting/chemistry is really good. The humor is low-key and sweet, extremely nuanced for humor. XK has good chemistry in this scene with the grand aunt and uncle.

Can you imagine if HT as a father is so direct with his kids? It's okay when they are older, but will he know how to talk to little kids? He will scare his kids away.

If HT ever has kids, he will need to learn how to not be so direct all the time.

there was a scene LL and SZZ discuss the A funding with JX and said they prefer to go with Chang He (Tongke?) to dilute HT's shares otherwise he will have too much control. I don't know that JX realizes Chang He is a bad person, does she? So, her decision to go with Chang He was rational, except before she found out about Hanhai-XingChen merger she didn't want to 'betray' HT since Chang He company is a direct competitor of Dongyan. I just don't understand how she managed to sign agreement without board's approval (HT). In the novel, she had to trick him to get his initials and then she had to steal his stamp.

I heard she is really good in Ode to Joy. Also, she got nominated for prestigious Magnolia awards for LYF. She has good acting skills. Liking an actor or not is subjective to your personal taste.

LFY2 is 6.6 with 54K user ratings and 19% 5-stars. These are very good Douban results for most costume dramas but probably below expectation for LFYS2.

The way I see her character, JX's first love is her work. HT lured her back to Hanhai-XingChen because she couldn't resist the opportunity to work on models that will change the future of the industry.

As far as her "running away", I don't see it that way. She is no longer CEO managing a company but VP of an independent R&D group. She doesn't have to manage the day-to-day operations of a company. Her people are taken care of. Since the merger was a hostile takeover, she doesn't want to stay.

the Douban rating of 6.9 with 24% 5-stars is excellent for a modern romance but it's only based 16,557 user ratings. It would be better if the sample size was 50,000 and still maintain the same level of ratings. Go Ahead Douban is 6.7 with 15.8% 5-stars but 296K user ratings.

JX in the novel said she didn't feel safe with him anymore or in the drama, she said she's scared of him. She went home to sort it out which is not bad idea given how emotional she is.

also, in their confrontation or show down scene, there was one point, she called him out and he swallowed (adam's apple moved) and his expression changed knowing she figured it out, and then he tried to rationalize from business perspective with her

JX has 33% shares. HT was willing to give her his 53% of XingChen would give her 86%. The remaining 14% is held by SZZ. She basically could call off the merger, couldn't she? But like HT says, you have no capital. So, she still needs funding from HT, so she cannot get away from HT, right? He was able to expose his cousin and save XingChen, but at the expense of losing JX. HT said that it was worth it because he still needs to work with his cousin.

It's okay. Han Ting is human after all. He's drank before. That's why he always has his medicine handy. HT's love for JX defies his logic but he doesn't realize it.

Sweetness again. This is the beauty of a drama.
