Oh my, you haven't seen XK in Yanxi palace? The story of Fuca Fucheng is too sad. XK was a newcomer with no acting or entertainment background. The character is serious, passionate, and emotional. This role allowed him to show that he can connect with an audience, and led to more roles, like AMA, and The Legends. I I'd like to see him do more roles like these, but XK seems to prefer martial arts roles these days.

Xu Kai Hengdian interview, he was asked to speak some Cantonese at the end. Because I speak it, I can detect how charming he speaks. If he said that same line "I wait for you" in a drama in that exact same way and facial expression, viewers will be so charm by it; but not sure if it would have the same effect in Mandarin since inflections are different. It's a shame he doesn't use his voice more because he has such a nice voice.

Also, if you do catch up before the new episodes are aired, you can rewatch past episodes while waiting for future ones because this drama has so many great scenes and do take note of some of the conversations that will contain clues about the setting and the plot.
