The kissing is fake anyway. They don’t actually really kiss. There are techniques to make it look like real kissing. The actors decide how far they go with the kissing but I noticed in many dramas they kiss each other below the lips so there is no exchange of saliva and the director can edit it to look like they’re really kissing. They just merely plant their lips below each other’s lips. However they still have to get very close to each other but I doubt they feel romantic or intimate with each other with so many people watching and trying to get the technique correct so the director can do his thing with it.

Wait for her performance and then you will see her impact on screen. She’s a rising star. This is only her third drama and second drama she leads. She brings a fresh style of acting to Chinese dramas.

They can’t because he was not. If they do it won’t hold up. Xu Kai played CEO his own way not typical greasy version. Xu Kai said he even tells the director if he thinks lines are too greasy. Some feel he redefined the CEO role. When you have grandmothers loving his CEO character that says a lot about his craft.

He’s got the most dramas. That makes him the hardest worker. But endorsements are more profitable than dramas. I have no idea how that stacks up for him. It’s remarkable to me a low key actor like him. I bet his fan base is wide spectrum, another factor why he stays popular and in demand. Professionals in the industry spoke up for Xu Kai in August saying he’s well respected in the industry and has tons of projects to choose from.

I read actors tend to stay away from CEO roles including William Chan in Love and Ambition. He spoke about it that CEO roles tend to come across “greasy” meaning it’s a risk to take on. I think Xu Kai creative genius he saw beyond that in BCE and ABAY. His characters feels like a real person. There’s more to HT and YZM than the business aspects and romance. He saw the richness of the role.

You make it sound like he’s a has been. Why is China’s economy linked to Xu Kai in particular? There is so much manufactured hype but not with Xu Kai. That’s why he is so underrated and his dramas always do well but never grossly exaggerated and eventually viewers find them which I think explains why he remains popular without hype. He doesn’t play to popularity.

My view of Xu Kai. Xu Kai may be marketed as idol/traffic, but his origin, choices, and interpretation style reveal someone trying to carve out a more grounded acting identity. In his interviews, he's spoken about trying to understand and embody his characters, always showing an interest in craft since the beginning of his career. It is to me why he exploded in Yanxi and subsequent roles. It had always been his natural inclination or giftedness to own the characters. He doesn't rely on idol-style fan service or constant traffic-chasing behavior. Xu Kai did not come from a singing/dancing idol background nor chase it later. These labels don't fit the reality of Xu Kai's imo. Because the Chinese entertainment is saturated with idol dramas, Xu Kai has had to participate in them, that's where the opportunities and visibility are. But he still was able to be successfully carving out each role despite idol dramas. He has always quietly focused on the craft not idol. He’s popular with over 20M Weibo following so he gets casted as traffic but he did not do anything to generate traffic, other than his dramas. At the core is his acting skills that make fans stay with him, all those amazing characters.

The rating for the completed is below 6.2. That means the real score is below that. Normally it’s 0.1 to 0.3 below depending on MDL bias, so the standardized is 5,9. It’s falling everyday. It seems likely to go below 5,9. This drama I don’t think deserves below 5.9 but it does reveal MDL bias where if it’s an actor they don’t like, this drama would have been probably 5.4 during its airing instead of 7.8.

Sad endings are the most memorable

Actually I thought Chinese dramas are standard crazy tragic like this which is why I stopped watching long ago all they do is cry over all tragedies in their lives until I discovered what they call “idol dramas “ with its light hearted and comedy elements mixed in and romances. I do prefer to serious tragedies.

I noticed his face was slimmer. . Losing weight will make your face more sunken. The face is the first thing noticeable when you lose weight. Usually actors faces become less plump after bodybuilding and then after 30 that youthful fat disappears. I like fat on face. Looks healthy.

“Intense?” There are no intense love scenes in CDrama.

The MDL poster of the leads doesn’t look like a happy couple. What would a body language expert say about them?

It’s not “nonsense” to those affected by war history. The suffering was inhuman and unimaginable. In the West a certain small nation had unimaginable suffering too on a much smaller scale yet they won’t let the world stop ever knowing about it and you can’t say anything bad about it yet no one ever speaks of crimes against Chinese people in history because they don’t talk about it. Of course it’s not fair to this actor whatever really did happen in thiscase.

There is enthusiasm for this drama. So much amazing sharing. It’s great to see both Xu Kai fans and Miles Wei fans sharing. I enjoy clips of both. I m looking forward to both of them. The characters seem so lively. The clips of both give me a sense of how the chemistry may play out. Hoping this drama will be a success. Now that I know Miles from FP he’s a really good actor. I think they will make good chemistry. Both of them have worked with Yang Zi they have that in common.
