While Unveil: Jadewind was filmed in extreme cold, Mo Li was shot during sweltering summer heat. Add to that the long hours, heavy costumes, and her lingering back strain—these factors created a huge overload. Performing stunts in such settings is extremely taxing. They really pushed her to her limits with these physical demands. That might explain why she took 6 months off afterward. I remember in a live video, she openly admitted her deep exhaustion, saying out loud to fans, 'I'm tired."

The Double has many characters—not just the main leads—who get real development, and their stories connect and build on each other. That makes the overall plot feel fuller and gives the viewer a stronger emotional response. Unveil: Jadewind also has many characters, but they aren’t developed as deeply, and their stories stay separate, so the viewer feels less attached to them. I supposed it's the nature of detective series.

Xu Kai’s agency really offers him no support from what I read. Two years ago, when someone spread a false rumor that he had an STD, the agency didn’t step in at all. Xu Kai ended up filing the lawsuit himself while he was still on set, going to the police station on his own one day because it was blowing up online in China and he was getting sick of it, and only winning the case a year later. The perpetrator only had to issue a formal apology no jail time and his malicious act was horrible. How do you like it if all of China think you had STD. It was the first time he actually filed a lawsuit this must have been ugly enough, because it's been happening for years and his agency does nothing. I think he has another law suit he filed will take another year.

Then came last year’s so‑called “scandal.” His own agent triggered the "scandal" himself on his livestream. One wonders. Xu Kai pursued legal action again, but once the situation calmed down, his own agency pushed marketing pieces that made him look powerless while portraying his agent as the one “protecting” him, when they did nothing for him. These lawsuits take over a year and by then, lot of people believe in it. It's why these things keep happening because it does work and there does not seem to be consequences that stop them.

Agencies like his often treat actors as interchangeable products rather than people whose careers they’re responsible for. In that sense, it’s a good thing ZYC chose to go independent after his own agency tried to sue him.

she was fabulous in The Double. She seems to be a versatile actress because I can't seem to recognize from drama to drama unless the makeup is amazing, it's like a different person.

The trailer shows a very different kind of character compared to Unveil: Jadewind—definitely not quiet, and possibly not humble. He seems very clever, and there are clear comedic elements, which makes the character feel lively and expressive rather than reserved or low‑key, unless he goes through different phases in the drama.

The male lead is a Huanyu artist and the female lead is a Hesong artist, and their studios maintain a long‑standing, extremely tight partnership. The director has also sustained a remarkable streak of hits and high MDL ratings ever since Ashes of Love (2018). His career shows a clear pattern of repeat collaborations, having worked with Dilraba three times and with Huanyu three times.

I like Zhu Zhanji (the imperial grandson) in Royal Feast (historical) and Yang Hua (the finance genius) in She and Her Perfect Husband (modern), but I thoroughly enjoy the tender and beautiful love story between Bai Jue (True God) and Shanggu (Goddess) in Ancient Love Poetry (xianxia) and its entire cast. Also, the amazing actress, Zhou Dong Yu is a real treat to watch. And honestly—who doesn’t love Li Ni (Wonderland of Love) and Han Ting (As Beautiful As You), two absolutely perfect men? Xu Kai's chemistry with Yang Mi (SAHPH) is the best. I also like his chemistry with Jing Tian (WOL), it was as real as it gets on screen.

The iconic Gu Yan Zhen (Arsenal Military Academy)… well, he’s simply iconic. We can never forget Fuca Fuheng (Story of Yanxi Palace); he’s the one who started it all for Xu Kai. Bian Luo Han in Sword and Fairy 6 is so exquisite yet so melancholy. Once Upon a Time in Lingjian Mountain is one of the two Xu Kai dramas I still can’t find all the episodes for, but Wang Lu, the prodigy, is an amazing character. The drama even has a high Douban score of 7.0 and was very popular in China.

I recently rewatched The Legends after three years and realized how much I actually like his character, Mo Qing / Li Chen Lan. His acting is really good—way better than I remembered the first time. He has such limited screen time across 56 episodes that I must have lost track before, but this time I made sure to watch closely for his scenes. Xu Kai’s talent has been there from the very beginning.

Falling into your smile is not the kind of story I normally would watch but I really enjoy the entire cast. The show has so many fun, memorable moments, and Xu Kai is incredibly handsome and charming as the cold‑yet‑caring captain (Lu Si Cheng or Cheng ge) who falls for a girl on his team. He’s strict and demanding with others, but he also comes to recognize his own shortcomings and learns to grow so he can better support his team. Modern romances like this can sometimes drift into cheesy territory, but Xu Kai’s modern roles never do—they stay natural, grounded, and genuinely appealing to me.

I took a glimpse of his acting in Sniper Butterfly. Yeah, he's a good actor, and so young too.

It's likely that they wanted the final ride to look epic, fast, and romantic. Having the taller ML ahead makes the shot look naturally powerful, balanced, and cinematic without extra tricks. If they forced the shorter FL in front, it would be harder to film at high speed, might look awkward because of the height difference, and could ruin the smooth, thrilling energy they were going for.

Certain emotional scenes are filled with powerful, memorable lines whose words carry deep emotional weight.

For me, "without caring who she hurt" would be out of character. She took meticulous steps to make sure no one got hurt in the process of revenge. Her character is both cold and hard yet kind and righteous.

I don't believe that Prince Duane lost any battles and neither did Lei Peiyi.

Even though Legend of the Female General performed really well, I think this drama is shaping up to be Cheng Lei’s biggest hit and the strongest performance of his career. It should give Mo Li a major boost when it airs later this year. Usually, when someone gets discovered the way he did—just doing small roles on the side to help out friends—it means there’s something naturally compelling about him that stood out. Prior to 2023, he was only doing short dramas with episodes barely twelve minutes long. What an amazing trajectory to break into the industry in this way.

Reading Class was filmed 5 yrs ago. His career is interesting because I noticed he did short dramas before 2023, the episodes are like 12 min. He's definitely working hard past two years putting out 3 dramas a year means no time off. So, it is possible to start out in short dramas and move to long form once you gain traction.
