So, if it gets sent in for review, does that mean the voice part is final too? I would think so, but they can still edit some things, even during airing.

maybe it will air late Dec. because if it airs after 800 then it will be another few months later and that just seems way too long.

Oh okay — so you do know Bai Jue is emotionally repressed (even Shanggu pointed that out). Sounds like you just find Xu Kai boring no matter what kind of role he plays, and that’s totally fair — not every actor clicks with everyone.

That said, I don’t agree that his characters or acting are the same in every role. If that were true, he wouldn’t have won Breakthrough Artist in both 2020 and 2023. Just last year, he picked up three awards for Outstanding Performance, Creative Actor, and Quality Actor.

In 2024, he made a real shift with two CEO roles — a first for him — and he has a couple of upcoming dramas that aren’t historical, fantasy, or CEO-centered. So, it’ll be interesting to see how those expand his range.

WOL is not listed as a fantasy. His fantasy dramas are The Legends, Once Upon a Time in Lingjian Mountain, Dance of the Sky Empire, Ancient Love Poetry, Snow Eagle Lord, Sword and Fairy, and Moonlit Reunion. Each is so different that it's really hard to compare.

I know the story pretty well so I will randomly watch an episode or two once in a while. I think the story is so well done and acted out, even though it's sad, it's also such a beautiful story.

You're conflating the character with the actor's performance" mixing up two separate things and treating them as if they're the same. The character: Bai Jue is written to be cold, ancient, and emotionally distant — an "ice cube" by design. The actor's performance: Xu Kai played that role exactly as intended/

So, when you say the show (or Xu Kai) is "boring" because the character is cold, you're blending your dislike of the character type with how well the actor delivered it. They’re connected, but not the same. Xu Kai nailed the role — even if the role itself isn’t your vibe. That’s the difference.

If you want less "ice," try Xu Kai in Arsenal Military Academy or Best Choice Ever.
