It's supposed to be romantic but it's not, I actually went in with low expectations such as that they won't kiss or be too affectionate in general so that's not even the thing that bothered me.
What did bother me though was that sumiko moved to Ryu and stayed there to raise kanau with them. I don't have a problem with sumiko herself, but making her move in and stay just took the focus away from Ryu and yohan. Ultimately yohan moves away and those two keep living together, raising the baby.
Ryu just completely accepted it that yohan moved out, from one day to another, without even trying to stop him. Without ever contacting him after that. That's how deep his "love" for yohan was. Literally stopped caring for his "soulmate" as if they didn't had a bond for multiple months, as I said he clearly didn't even check up on him not even with a call or text message. They went from friends to strangers again.
Then at the end after idk how many years he goes to yohan and they act as if they weren't apart for multiple years, as if their bond is still as strong as in the beginning. Like they want to tell me that it was OK for them to not see each other again etc while they should have been full of emotions then but years later everything is OK as if none of them could have "fallen out of love" with one another. Besides Ryu says at the end that he loves him, implying he cares for him, but at the same time he's moving to a new house with sumiko and even marrying her. If anything he is more soulmate with sumiko than with yohan in the first place and I don't even mean this in a romantic sense, clearly sumiko is his childhood friend, they lived together shortly in Germany, then shortly in Japan when sumiko came back and then longterm after seiichi dies... Their bond is much deeper because seemingly they cared and helped each other much more, as far as to marrying each other and raising a kid together. Thats probably one of the reasons why it fails to portray yohan and him as soulmates, romance aside although it was promoted as such. That's my opinion at least
My opinion differs, so far I like this season the most. Especially compared to s1 where a lot of victims decided to not punish the people that have hurt them.
The action scenes paired with violence here is perfect, yet ist still has a little humor just like in the past seasons. And it's an emotional roller coaster, this show is really good at making the audience feel hate, sadness, bittersweet and happy. Not a lot of kdrama those rats are able to make you feel so many emotions.
Taxi driver also stays true to themselves. They didn't change anyone from the main cast even though some of the actors must be busy. They keep their family dynamic with each other and work as team. They still use the taxi and include car racing just like in past seasons.
Korea’s ego would not allow a Japan win on their soil, on their show. I just can imagine the backlash. No one…
I completely agree with you, donghyun has also mentioned that he doesn't want to go up against Australia because he knows they are really strong and good at teamwork. Maybe they received a tip before the 100 rounds of pushing that wheel challenge, where donghyun suddenly said to use weaker members because they rather want to focus on the next game.. Like none of the other teams caught up on that, if him, sungbin and amotti would have done that challenge then things would have turned out very differently.
I personally also think it's a bit unfair that the Korean team has like 3-4 people who already participated in physical 100 and therefore had an advantage against the other teams
SK team has the experience and the specific training for this show. So, please explain your "a lot of things…
For me personally what I find very sketchy is that Kim donghyun suddenly suggested to use their weaker players during that 3 VS 3 challenge (the one right before they had to push with their 3 other players 100 rounds) because most of the time he seemed more caught up in thoughts instead of full on logical yet no other team catches up to that. If Australia did the same, I'm pretty sure things would have turned out very differently (and from the start donghyun said he doesn't want to go against Australia because knows they are really strong and as good in teamwork as them)
It will definitely be a close call but tbh I don't think the whole team behind physical asia will let Korea lose, at least not this soon. I could be wrong of course but there is always a possibility that it could be rigged to some extent
I struggle as well but what's helping me cope are bl manhwa, I can recommend one in particular if you want
Honbul: flame of the soul;
It's not enemies to lovers but the Mc wants to take revenge, Mc is a well written character and the art is amazing! Love is slowburn here too
Another one I can recommend (I stumbled upon it just recently) is "monochrome rumor"
The art is gorgeous and the storyline is very interesting, the Mc went through some things and I think there is potential revenge? Im not done reading it yet but it really is interesting, this one has a soul switch to it! I hope you will like at least one of those 🩵
