I think it's the Korean work culture - Seniors can yell at you and treat you unfairly and you should just accept it and apologise even if it's not your fault. So by Korean standards there is nothing wrong going on here - just everyday normal days at work ;) I guess Korean people could say that ML is a great and loving boss as he's protecting FL every time he can. Blame the Confucianism ;)
I guess it's changing and nowadays more Korean writers take into consideration that what is "normal" in Korea (or was normal just a few years back) is not always liked abroad so they adjust it to western standards. That's not the case with this drama though.
