SOOOO SAD.....I didn't like it.....but I kinda expected that going in because I didn't like the manga and I didn't…
i never understood the hype for the series either (the one this drama is adapted from) i couldn't even finish the japanese og ver because it was just, erm, too boring for me. i wish gmm gave them an original script instead of an adaptation 😔
Many things about this drama get me excited.1. Xiao Zhan's role is very interesting. It seems like an anti-hero…
honestly if you see a fan being negative about this drama, it's important to be reminded that they're only a minority and do not represent the rest of the fandom(s) so it's best to ignore them
It's like a grade for drama investment and there are different types for eg., S+, S, A, B, C... When a show is rated 'S+', it means it has the most money and possibly, best quality. Until now, the top rating for a show has been 'S+'. But recently, with this drama getting an 'S++', it means it's even better in both investment and quality and investors are confident putting their money on it.
the ending where they proceed to the long march was satisfying, i loved it! i wish this was longer, it felt like a lot of details were omitted... the last arc was pretty rushed
the character that caught my attention the most in this drama is lin qiaosong.. i hate his guts but every time he appears you just know something's about to go down. he's that epic
anyways this was truly a good hit drama, if season 2 ever happens i will be seated
omgg yass 😭 4 ep is definitely not enough to cover up everything and it will probably end in a cliff hanger…
if that's how it is (bc i haven't caught with the recent eps yet) then a season 2 with the og cast is definitely a need.. it would be a bummer if they don't make it
I personally didn't like wangyibo because his acting's very bad in the previous dramas. Unexpectedly, I found…
to be fair, if you compare it to his peers he wasn't that bad, he just lacked experience. there are times he's good, times he's not. he was great as lan wangji but i didn't like his acting in luoyang so i dropped it. his improvement began in hidden blade (which is his best acting role for me) and now, his role as wei ruolai is also decent (but still remains inferior in contrast to veteran actors like wang yang). i personally think he fits republican dramas a lot
he's continuously improving which is great! unlike his other peers of same age whose skills remain stagnant over the years...
I have a question for Mandarin-speakers. The native title of this drama is "A Storm Chaser", 追风者. Does "storm…
it was originally 长风破浪 which literally means long wind and waves but changed to 追风者 a day before broadcasting iirc.... "storm chaser" may have come from an idiom which means someone who yearns for freedom or strives to achieve something difficult which obviously refers to wei ruolai and his steadfast principles
edit: can also refer to the communist party members (like shen jinzhen and xu nuo) during that era
