due to censorship, it's not explicitly bl. some viewers also never really noticed the unusual relationship between the leads, so you'll be fine. moreover, the romance isn't really the focus here, this drama is more of politics and the ml (wei wuxian)'s story. give it a try, it's one of the best chinese dramas out there in my opinion :)

a little tmi i guess, this was filmed during the pandemic and tong xiaomei's actress, li qin, got somewhat stuck in quarantine in beijing and so they had to reduce her screentime for the filming to continue. nonetheless txm's appears more in the 2nd half of the drama

the our skyy 2 ver was honestly a mess for me (but still fun!).. the full drama is definitely miles better because the story is more complete and the chemistry seems more genuine and natural. i hear it's available on viki that's why it's not on youtube anymore (although it's still there in my region). you can try watching it there :)
