About half way through and I'm taking a break from it. Totally opposite of many other opinions here- I'm struggling with almost every character being stiff and much of the time, expressionless. None of the main characters ever seem to find even little moments of joy in their lives, regardless of past personal history or current family circumstances. I mean, I understand it's centered around elite levels of music, the seriousness to succeed. Nonetheless, music should be joy, freedom, friendship, self & group expression, a vehicle that brings people together, arguably, more than any other art form.

Outstanding, and in my humble opinion, underrated per the ratings on here (7.7)! I give it a 9.0 to 9.5 Full range of life's and a country's emotions during a terrible time in world history. Very heart-wrenching at times. I have a difficult time with historical cultural man-woman, family dynamics and hierarchies in historical dramas. However, I felt this could be a somewhat accurate depiction of two main family’s lives and friends during that slice of time. One hardship after another sprinkled with not enough time for happiness but considering the story context, it’s understandable. Loved the music, art theme and delivery. The liberal arts needs of human beings for pure joy and as a coping mechanism against oppressive and dark circumstance was thoughtfully done. I see why Miyazaki is a beloved actress- she has one of the sweetest and most natural camera presences in all of acting. The supporting cast was varied and most of them also performed well. Very fortunate to be able to see this inspirational asadora which I highly recommend.
she has to be Park Shin Hye long-lost younger sister (or maybe Shin Hye is Yoon Seo's long-lost older sister)! i think i might become a casting director, haha!

Once again, it's confirmation that asadoras are my favorite Japanese format/delivery although I've seen many very good movies and normal length (shorter) drama series.
No, I didn't- moved on to others. To paraphrase- I think it was Frank Zappa who said 'So many books/movies, so little time' If you completed it, how'd it go for you? Best regards
The Bad: if you are not suited for constantly screeching character dialogues (rich boy's mom and the grandma) then you may want to avoid this family oriented, slightly romantic, comedy (not much was actually funny) melodrama. Contemplating dropping this one at episode 9-2, just after the revealing episode, 9-1. The good: the story, the plot, it's branches and twists. the acting of the sight-challenged FL and the child actor who portrayed Bom also was delightful
It was average at best. Pacing/communicating just too slow most of the time so it was good that it was only four episodes. Its difficult to watch a drama where so many people make so many bad choices. Once again, I'm perplexed at how the police function- hope it's not like this in real life!
Enjoyed it very much. All in all, well made and acted. Arikawa is always a fun talent to watch as well as the senior actors who are stalwarts in the industry
While I'm enjoying this one through 4 episodes some of the actions of the characters, dialogues and interactions between characters are a bit amateurish (even for 2008). Not sure if it's the writing, directing or actor interpretations. Could be that cultural differences are at play again, like so many Asian movies and dramas this westerner has watched (not intended to be derogatory). I'll certainly continue because these real-life dramas keep you interested on some levels
agree with others here- the cast and acting are really good (except i did not like the character of Won Seok). while i understand the need to invent drama- the good is that the writing didn't veer off into juvenile angst, but the over complication of adult relationships was a bit overdone. overall, a pleasant watch which i sailed through consistently- rated at 8.0
that short banged, short necked bob is ugly with a capital U. maybe it fits the character but not the eye test!…
DNF at episode 5. we lose approximately 500M cells a day. i bet i lost an extra few billion sitting through 5 episodes! in all fairness, i'm simply not the audience for this work of bodily parts art. that said, the acting/voice acting were well done
