On hold, most likely will not finish after 7.5 episodes. Annoyingly repetitive, up and down behavior simply not justified by past misfortunes of the character's lives, which destroyed the intended comedy aspects. While Won Hae may be a great comedy actor to many people, he can also be terribly annoying. In summary, this should have been shorter to get to the point and writers needed to strike a better balance between comedy and romance. 6.0 at best
Completed- another very good epic family saga with full range of human emotions. This long-series format really works well for me and i feel this is another that's underrated. Was thoroughly absorbed- well worth my time- 9.0. I'll really miss asadoras once I've exhausted the available library.
Good asadora through episode 77. Some observational jests about J and other A drama writing- which ones apply to Mare? 1) never say what you should and when you should say it! 2) never say what you mean and mean what you say! 3) always take what seems like several minutes to reply while in the midst of conversation! 4) always apologize, even when you haven't done anything wrong! 5) don't defend yourself even when it's plainly obvious and justifiable to do so! 5) always trip and fall to further complicate your life- make sure to carry way too much stuff! 6) never look when crossing an intersection and always walk down the middle of the road!
well done, everything you could want all wrapped up in one. every politically incorrect AND correct trope represented including minute details. fun, funny , well thought out story and writing for a lite comedy. very talented cast. Yoshida Yoh is a Queen among queens! 9++
Underrated in my unimportant opinion. Really liked the aura/atmosphere and the diverse characters, each with unique quandaries to life's meaning and happiness. Solid acting. Should everybody read Hamlet in order to get on with life, ha ha? Well worth my time - 8.2
Good, detailed real-to-life story and it touched on all emotions. Just about all characters deeply affected. Well acted. Dialogue a little too slow at times but the pace mostly fit the story pretty well and the story was solid enough. It fits the mold concerning bad and good luck- sometimes when it rains it pours and sometimes, but less often, it's a gentle summer rain.
Would have been better if i could have found a full version- I watched it in three/fragmented parts on YouTube (too late, I found the full version on Tubi). I'd bump up the current 7.1 rating on here to 7.5/7, more in line with other commenters below, being that the positive aspects outweighed the negative
IMHO, Underrated per MDL ratings. I speculate that many viewers see it as people cheating other people, but I didn't- it's so much more complicated than that. Of course, in real life, most of us would not take every action that the ML, FL and other prominent characters did.
Production near flawless but likely cost a small fortune- I suppose you get what you pay for in that regard. Perfect length at 8 episodes, practically no wasted or needless scenes.
Lovely soft fantasy. Not a romance but I'd call it a full-range-of-emotions life drama, from dark-sad to lite-happy. Very spiritual leaving you with meaning of life grand wonders. Acting near flawless, characters very real and fully resonating. Well done overall (8.5/10)
Half way point- i like asadoras very much but this one is a slog! I'll finish it but hope it gets better! I dislike how grandpa character was written (and/or the actor's portrayal of the character). But I understand the writer's need to create tension with belligerent characters. I agree with LouM's -and- andoR's reviews (below)- too boring and not enough focus. https://jp-films.com/hitomi - with english subs
Episode 3 complete. My simple first take is it may take a bully to end bullying, to fix dysfunctional families and associated individuals. It is hard to watch, I'm wanting to discontinue, but from previous comments, one may have to slog through the discomfort to get to a/the better place, get to the real motives of the tutor. Is he a good guy or a bad guy or something in between? So, the real question for me is why is he intimately involving himself? Thanks to the previous commenters and reviewers
like others have said: I'd be very grateful to find the 2022 movie with eng subs. the 2003 and 2006 series were the type of drama style and atmosphere that suits me well. i really enjoyed those series.
