Cute at the start, then the painfully cringey oh no we can't kiss/etc as if they are virgins.
Exactly! Also, it was comical at the start. Then, the writers (and whomever else) felt they needed to destroy a positive thing! Ask a comedian if they can survive performing the same material time after time after time at the same comedy club. The answer will be NO. Could not finish while watching episode 9 and it's a shame because the acting is not bad
Through 40 episodes and its good to very good. What a cruel childhood and young adult life the protagonist endured. No child should have to be subjected to and burdened with adult responsibilities. Once again, shame on many fathers for being ignorant and terribly irresponsible, regardless of the time period in history. What a strong female child in this realistic story. Well done in most all aspects. I'm grateful I have the means to watch this and I look forward to finishing it.
I've watched 55 episodes so far and i think the rating range of 6.5 to 7.5 is probably fair. I understand it's…
Almost stopped watching at about 115 but managed to finish. to repeat: I understand that cultural change sometimes takes decades/generations but the father was depicted as a terribly weak human who never made one correct initial decision, NOT ONE. Also to repeat: the twins were wonderful, lovely characters and some of the supporting cast were very good, some not good! I know it's not easy to write and plan a script that is this long but way too many manufactured problems dragged the quality down. And then, all of a sudden the ending/last several episodes were rushed! Could have been really good and it's a shame for the actors who were really good and deserved better
This was one of, if not the first J dramas i watched (just a few years ago), and man, I STRUCK GOLD. After watching hundreds since, it is still one of the very best, perhaps in the top handful. A masterclass in small-set real-life, situation comedy drama in almost all aspects. Beautiful and flawed all at the same time! Superb character writing and acting, well directed and filmed. Also one of the very few i can watch over and over with very little drop off of likeability and that is very rare for me. As others have said (here & elsewhere), it's warm, comfortable, inviting, diverse and so much more. You can taste the food, smell the tiny diner, feel the the bar, walk the alleyway with your eyes closed and insist it's real and accurate. The characters are so delightful. I could go on and on but will spare you the novel! It fits me like a glove so I rate it a 9.8. Hope you enjoy it
I've watched 55 episodes so far and i think the rating range of 6.5 to 7.5 is probably fair. I understand it's a tool to build emotion and tension but the back and forth behaviors are annoying and repetitive . I absolutely cannot stand the motives of the geisha mother and I totally dislike her character. I also dislike the father (and birth mother almost as much) of the twins and the brother when he was throwing tantrums. The father is a hypocrite of the highest magnitude! The twins are talented and very likeable and you want them to succeed, find happiness and remain together- they carry the show on their backs! i'll continue the latter two-thirds since I am invested in the story but it's average for an asadora. Perhaps i'll change my opinion overall for the better, when completed
Okay, finished and I posted my review. Not the best asadora but worth a watch if you really like asadoras.
Thank you for taking the time to post a review. The asadora format is my favorite and most i've watch are good to excellent. Of the dozen or more I've watched, only a couple have I had to put on hold. I'll give this one a try.
This was custom made for me- I can't get enough of country settings. Outstanding for a simple, feel-good life story. No contrived, useless, over-complicated plots here! Really well written, directed, nice characters, well acted. "Ah, it's me, me" "Who is me, me?" By the way, Kuninaka Ryoko is simply gorgeous as well as every female actress in this series! >>> I'd appreciate recommendations for similar dramas <<<
One of the most well made lite comedies I've ever seen. Superb acting chemistry. Finally, not one character I didn't like. Very Ironic since i'm not a fan of manga, comics or cartoons of any kind. One of few drama series in a while that I binge-watched. I rate it 9.5
that was funny. OK, every character was perverted but just like real humans i suppose! i really don't have a clue why i was left with a light heart and a sense of well-being! dark comedy here i cum!
Unfinished, because the series drags on and on with self-invented misunderstandings time after time after time. I'm not sure ANY character communicates even close to 100% what they need to say when they need to say it but the real problem is some not communicating at all! The ML shows practically no emotion regardless of when he's healthy or not- i don't know if that's the fault of the actor, writer or director.
Like so many drama series, the writers/staff should have condensed this to significantly fewer episodes, cut out some of the unnecessary angst or simply make it a two to four hour movie. So far, I rate it 6.0 or less.
I see there's a 2025 movie by the same title (366 Days)- is it based on the same premise- if so, then maybe it's worth watching instead?
not bad by any measure. what i learned: don't be an egg or sperm donor with your friend or lover's spouse even if they insist and especially if that friend is a king (or a queen or a QUEEN! but if you do, make sure you or they get pregnant quickly while there's still a free pass!
DNF at episode 10 although i might return to it someday. overrated. repetitive to a fault which doesn't build suspense for the viewer, only frustration. emotional responses sometimes from the actors do not seem to match the character or script moment- perhaps poorly directed. for now i suggest moving on- there are simply too many other movie/series options
