Do you think we'll get a kiss next week ? Pls no spoiler from the book. Usually after the half time you get at least a small kiss in many kdramas. Whatever my pervy mind hopes for some kind of skinship scene for the 6th episode 😏
this is kinda hypocritical coming from someone who has roots in a country which is known for their major focus on outer appearance and with the highest rating in beauty sugeries. Koreans are known for their "non makeup look" which is achieved with tons of beauty products and invasive and non invasive interventions at the dermatologists and beauty centers. I am pretty sure she has also a beauty routine which she religiously follows...
Also it is no shame to use makeup, some do it for fun and others are not blessed with a clear skin. Don't know what is so special about this to brag
Whats the message here? that she is a "natural beauty" that doesnt need much Make Up?Normally I would applaud…

Tbh I am sure about BWS that he will deliver but not about IU. Probably I am in the minority but I dropped both of her most popular dramas (the scarlet one and hotel de luna). Of course she is pretty, but her acting was a bit boring and the same.... Hope this one won't be disappointing
Agreed. Although he doesn't belong to the typical pretty boy kdrama category he is still really handsome in his…
I know what you mean... his whole appearance fits his role. The frown, the eye bags, the intense gaze, the gaunt face, the curved lipes which hardly smile, the slender body but also the way he his walking and talking - he pictures not only perfectly the role of a powerful, hard working and just politician but also the one of a husband who has secretly a soft spot for his wife.
The ML is fine in every episode of this drama. Sexy, brooding, strong but clearly sensitve behind that tough exterior.…
Agreed. Although he doesn't belong to the typical pretty boy kdrama category he is still really handsome in his own way and has a quite impressive I-am-the-man- aura. Really glad that they chose someone mature for this role.
My thoughts about the car scene at the end after watching finally the 4th episode
In the car, Saeon watches the video in shock as his wife breaks down hysterically. It was only then that I really realized what this video meant to him. It wasn't just about her hiding the fact that she could talk from him. He met his wife as a child more than 20 years ago when she was mute. He may have loved her ever since and never known her any other way. AND NOW, AFTER SUCH A LONG TIME, HE HEARS HER VOICE FOR THE FIRST TIME!! OMG IT MUST ALL BE IN HIS HEAD, HE CAN HEAR HUIJI!! I can hardly imagine the emotional chaos that hearing her voice causes in him, the butterflies must be turning fckin crazy in his belly 😩😭😭 I can hardly wait for the next episode!!!!
Did I already mention that I am glad that so far there is no cheap cringey drunken scene in which the leads will do confessions or kisses while they are intoxicated? Hope this will stay for a couple of more eps 🙏
The most important part: Baek Sae On character played by actor Yoo Yeon Seok.He is not the typical handsome actor…
I can completely understand you. At least in Korean Entertainment the career for actors is not over as soon as they hit the 30s. The most popular dramas are with actors who are older than 30 (like QOT, LR, WIWWSK, the glory etc.). One of the reasons why I prefer KDramas over Cdramas. The later usually just cast young actors in their early 20s. You hardly see older actors who will claim main roles in Romcoms.

I wholeheartedly agree with you although I didn't know this actor before. He has a more gaunt mature face, with shades, a clear beard shadow, eye bags and a slender appearance which doesn't fit to a hero who is over 6 ft tall and is all muscles. But nevertheless this doesn't make him less attractive: instead he has a really powerful appearance, surrounded by a natural authority which demands immediate command - everything fits to his position as an influential politician.
Kudos to the producers- the casting for the leads was excellent.
Btw is the MDL homepage broken?https://kisskh.at/discussions/support/132552-help-site-not-opening
Yes, but fortunately the mdl website to WTPR is in my chronic, otherwise I would be seriously disappointed that I can't read all the hyped comments and fangirl with everyone for the upcoming ep🤗
In American series they'd probably start with the ML and FL sleeping together lol. One of the reasons I've stopped…
Jup me too... I also miss nice kisses which don't lead immediately to intercourse. Like Maxton Hall (German series in Netflix) was promising but there is not one nice gentle kiss...instead just hungry clashes with the mouth and boom next scene is them sleeping together :(
There are also American romance series like that with a dark ML so the plot is not something new... but what the korean plot makes especially appealing is that the producers are focusing on the chemistry between the leads.
In the American series they would probably focus too much on the ML being horny and physically jumping the FL all the time and they would sleep together probably in the next episode and there wouldn't be anything to look for. But in the korean series we have this slow burning and a smouldering stare or an innocent touch is enough to make the viewers crazy. So I don't mind tropes and cliches as long as the execution is well done like in this series 😌
I'm surprised. in the comments everyone admires the main character. He's literally a walking red flag. He constantly…
Chill. For me in real life I am attracted to men who are the complete opposite of the ML: real green flags who treat their woman with the most respect. Never I would entertain myself to date such a man who would call me a "hostage".
But nevertheless I am hooked with this drama, love the sizzling chemistry between the leads, the strong but also vulnerable FL and her relationship to the ML who is sometimes toxic but has also a clear soft spot for her. Also he is redeemable, right now he is suffering and feeling the pain which also felt the FL through the years. He will change for the better. It is a refreshing dark plot to the standard rainbow unicorn fluff kdrama plot... and also a nice escapism from real life.
I don't dream of such a love and I am pretty pretty sure many of the other viewers also not. Don't insult us just because you dont like this drama. I am a grown up woman and can differentiate between fiction and reality.
You're not wrong and normally this wouldn't work for me at all. (50 Shades of Grey was a hard pass for me). But…
Completely agree with you. I also don't get the comparisons with Christian Grey. He was an awful character (and also the FL), couldn't stand the hype around those movies. While it is not the case with this drama, here the ML has a clearly soft spot for the FL.
I read many comments on VIKI from fans saying that they nearly missed watching Smile Code because the rating was…
Well I am also glad Viki recommended me this one though I am in the middle of the first episode. The rating on MDL is not reliable, I am quite shocked how it differs from the one on VIki and also from my own first impression (I am already hooked)
Just watched the first 20 min and had to leave immediately a comment.... what a beautiful beginning, already mesmerized by the chemistry between both leads. Had to repeat the scene when he was imitating her gestures so many times...
Once again I am glad that I didn't let myself impact by the unreliable rating on MDL. Otherwise I would have missed this one
