Is it just me, or does Spring Fever feel like that drama you watch with one eyebrow permanently raised?I’ve…
Honestly, your energy is wasted. A large portion of the users on MDL aren't capable of evaluating a drama in a nuanced way: they can either rave about a series or tear it apart. There's no middle ground. Your comment shows that you're intellectually on a completely different level... I wouldn't engage in such discussions. And yes, I agree with you, the acting of the ML is very wooden and the FL takes some getting used to, even if the series itself isn't bad. I also partly blame the heavy filters - the characters look almost cartoonish and less human.
why? They are trying so hard😢I wish them all success
Expensive, Geo restricting, building monopols … to watch dramas you need nowadays so many subscriptions to tons of different streaming sites … I am not feeding this industry with my money.
I am not so happy about the episodes length... I remember that it was really tiring watching QOT which also had way too long eps. But maybe this time it will be a better experience since it has only 12 eps in general
Currently watching this drama and I must say that I love it that the ML looks so mature and manly, you can even see his beard shadow. Tired of seeing boyish male leads with those ridiculous bowl hair cuts who look like 20 but are on the same time CEOs of big companies.
Has Netflix (and the US standards) completely taken over K drama productions ? There have been over 500 articles…
I recommend watching dramas on Viki. Many dramas there don't feel so much westernised like those on Netflix.
And regarding this aspect "There have been over 500 articles about Netflix on this site". I am not sure but it feels like MDL has some exclusive contract with Netflix and Disney. Dramas on these sites are pushed really aggressively while other streaming sites like Viki, Prime, Apple and so on are hardly promoted. I remember when Lovely Runner was aired - it was such a huge international success but hardly any news on MDL since it was not available on Netflix at that time.
Aside from "Idol I", no K-drama seems to have grabbed me lately. Then I saw the rave reviews for "Love Between Lines." I hesitated at first, as I tend to get bored with Cdramas quickly (childish characters, too many episodes...). I've only seen one episode so far, and I have to say, it completely captivated me. What an interesting concept with the murder mystery - so creative! You have no idea where the story is going. And when the leads first meet outside the city gates... Wow wow wow! Combined with the soundtrack, it was such a wonderfully beautiful scene! I couldn't stop watching it over and over! "I'll be relentless... the terror in your dreams..."
The entire mysterious and magical atmosphere makes the drama so interesting - a truly refreshing change from the usual K-drama clichés. I'm really looking forward to the rest of the episodes!
I don’t mean to offend anyone, but lately some K-actors feel a bit too focused on looks. Their faces seem overly…
I understand what you mean. Combined with those ridiculous beauty filters Korean actors often look cartoonish. Dont get their hate against human pores… It is such a difference if you watch Western series, especially those from Britain. You can see actually human skin and feel more raw emotions. Wish that Korean Producers would stop using filters and cast more actors who look more like everyday people. Nevertheless I encourage you to continue. I started to like the drama especially from ep 2 and 3.
I must say that the Do La Iks confession in ep 9 was one of the most awkward love declarationa I have seen in dramas. On the same time it was so wholesome, raw and genuine it made me really smile. Really happy with the latest eps. So many emotions and butterfly moments (especially the KISS). Had to replay so many times scenes in which La Ik was teasing Se Na und grinning like a little puppy. You could sense how overwhelming the feelings where for both, especially for Se Na who was never in a relationship before. It was really adorable. On the same time it was so nice seeing two grown ups accepting their love and coming together without the usual misunderstandings. Although the drama comes to an end next week I am glad that everything unfolds in a perfect pace.
I mean, duh... It's natural for a human being to wish having a couple and being a parent. What a clown timeline…
SK has world wide the lowest birth rate. If you look up the biography of different Korean actresses you will see that so many of them stay childfree or have just one child in their late 30s (e.g. Park Min Young, Jung So Min, Song Hye Kyo).
So I am actually surprised about her comment and I understand why it is relevant as a headline.
"There was a time when I experienced burnout. I struggled for about a year. Gyeong Do's lines to Ji Woo actually hit me as if he were speaking to me. Time resolves everything. The hardest part is feeling lethargic. Rather than trying too hard to solve it, I kept my body busy. I kept moving, and if that didn't work, I went to exercise or sought out work for myself. By doing that, I felt myself returning."
I liked him in WWWWSK, and I don't want to downplay his experience with burnout. True burnout progresses through 12 stages and isn't a standalone illness, but rather a comorbid diagnosis, often occurring alongside depression. Depending on the stage, the symptoms of burnout can be so severe that physical activity, like the actor's, is simply impossible. Complete physical and mental exhaustion can be so severe that recovery isn't possible after just a year of struggle.
I am writing this in support of all those who are struggling with burnout and depression and who may doubt themselves and wonder why their recovery is not as quick and as successful as described here.
Netlix releasing many or all episodes all at once kills Korean-produced dramasKorean-produced Kdramas live off…
I agree with you in many points especially regarding this part: "It is very obvious in this drama Can This Love Be Translated, as it becomes a whirwind of fast flashing scenes, like in some Hollywood sht"
Some viewers comments and reviews are baffling - although they are admitting that the plot, acting and the characters are weak they still give a good rating because of the pretty landscape and the actress being good looking 🤦♀️ I honestly don't have words for this- nowadays it is apparently enough if the kdrama has a pretty package without any valuable content. If the viewers get that easily satisfied why should producers and screenwriters care for more quality?
Welp I guess this is a good example for a drama where the rating shouldn't justify if I should watch it or not.…
" I guess this is a good example for a drama where the rating shouldn't justify if I should watch it or not" This is actually the case for all dramas here, especially for those from Taiwan and Japan. I really recommend watching dramas without MDL and other social media. It really helps to find hidden gems and to appreciate a drama without prejudices and online negativity.
I predict that this drama will be rated around 8.5–8.7, even if it doesn’t really work out. GYJ has one of…
Your comment made me laugh... it is so on point. There is already review bombing happening after the initial rating get low till 7.7. I am predicting the next couple of days a rating above 8.0 :D
it was pretty good start and pretty good ending but what was bad about this was 6,7,8 was kind of difficult to…
I respect your opinion but I am kinda puzzled about your 9.5 rating... You write
"what was bad about this was 6,7,8 was kind of difficult to understand" "overall not bad"
For me a 9.5 means almost perfection but if the whole middle part was not that well how can you just deduct 0.5 points? Once again, I am not attacking you, just once again wondering how different everyone interprets the 1 to 10 rating system here.
It is baffling to me that a drama can very clearly spell out a characters issues over 6 episodes - like to the…
Yes, I understand you, I'm also totally annoyed at reading the same complaints over and over again… I'm too tired to reply. I wish we could pin some viewers' well-written character analyses to the top of the comments section…
