I find it hard to believe that Netflix jut accidentally mistranslated this. Netflix not too long ago removed every…
This is interesting to know that even among Koreans are fights over the translation... so this is not that clear. It is just so weird that the writer put this scene into this drama. She usually writes about romantic dramas. What was her intention? Was she that naiv that she didn't expect some kind of backlash? And what about the other actors? Why did they agree to carry out this scene? Do all of them lack political literacy or common sense? Did no-one of them expect some kind of shitstorm?

Can we just talk about episode 11 for a second....tell me why this man after 11 EPISODES of being quick-witted…
I think he wanted to protect Hui Ju and distract the kidnapper. But yeah it was weird how close he got to the gun 😅

But so many people liked it but agree with ur critic takes, the last ep was not the best because of the execution,…
No you are right it doesn't deserve such a low rating. Although I am still not sure how to rate it is definitely about 8.5... especially since 80 % of the drama was amazi g

100% agree with what you've said. We would have been better off with 11 episodes, ML's actions and motivations…
Yes I feel you 😢 Can't believe how much this comment section changed... there was so much love and praise for the leads and suddenly it feels like it is the worst drama ever created. I would have never expected such a disastrous ending... awful how this amazing journey ended

Definitely, even without the political controversy the episode was the weakest part of the story. I know Argan…
Oh really? Thank you! I don't remember, feelss like an eternity when I started watching this drama 😅

the way the ratings are going down, be ready guys, it's going to be below 8.
Na, it won't. People also thought the same about King the land.

I feel for the cast 😢 I really loved the main leads here, must be awful as an actor to see all the rating going down just because of the last ep

I don't think it puts awareness... people who don't know about the war in Gaza must live under a rock since this goes on for more than a year.. people who care will inform themselves about it. Such a weird short scene which was poorly/deliberately mistranslated causes just confusion, uproar and even ignorance. Also I feel for the casting crew who put so much effort into it and now they feel the wrath of the Internet.

I've never read the novel so for me it felt even more out of place, never expected in the last 30 min suddenly a war arc 😅 Maybe they just needed a break up to fill the last scenes... :(

And regarding the hostages: yes it felt so weird that they didn't talk about the other rescued people, Sa Eon was the only one who was saving them (apparently he was doing some military training during his time as a spokesperson haha). Poor Hui Ju must be traumatised after so many times being kidnapped...

What really annoys me right now is that some people think that this dramas is unfairly rated just because of the Palitima-Izmael-disaster. As an avid WTPR fan from the very beginning I have to admit that the last episode was genuinely just... bad.

Hardly somone talks about how confusing, rushed and incoherent ep 12 has been. So many scenes don't make sense and feel out of place. Even the love scene was hardly touching because of the ridiculous war arc. Also my biggest issue is Sa Eon: he feels so out of character. It doesn't make any sense for him to put even more emotional burden on Hui Ju although he damn well knows how much she suffered in the past (partially also because of him). Actually he was using the same cruel method like his mother intended to with Hui Jus kidnapping. And isn't the drama all about communication? And why the hell does he suddely feel guilty for the faults of his grandfather? He dispised that guy! His whole character growth was just destroyed because of his ridiculous behaviour.

Honestly ep 12 was awful enough even without the political controversy.

So I am not a big fan of her since I don't watch many cdramas but nevertheless her story is really saddening. As someone who has the same height and had once a weight of 46 kg I know the downsides of being too skinny: although I was not malnourished I was always cold, tired and weak. So it is crazy that her loved ones didn't help her when she was around 36 kg, this is life threatening!

Also I always thought that Chinese actors have a crazy filming schedule. While korean actors usually release a drama once every couple year Chinese actors film so many in the same short time. Cdrama entertainment sounds even more terrible than korean entertainment expectations... wish her a speedy recovery.

Does anyone know from Chinese media if she is getting backlash from Chinese citizens for her revelations? Or are people in general supportive?

Netflix is responsible, but why on earth is MBC staying silent about it?They should release a statement clarifying…
No, they won't address it. You remember that scene with the middle finger in sign language which caused a shit storm and the production team was immediately apologising? This was a big matter for Koreans.

But the war in Gaza is something international (I don't think common Koreans care for it) and on top a sensitive topic. By apologising they would cause more uproar and maybe people will blame them taking sides... so nothing will happen, they also never apologised for xenophobic comments or stereotypical portrayals in their dramas in the past. They know many international fans will eventually fotget it and keep consuming korean entertainment.

Episode 12 feels like a foreign body and doesn't fit in with the rest at all (ep 11 wasn't that good either, but nowhere near as bad). The scenes seem chaotic, incoherent and confusing.

- It starts with the Christmas scene at the end of episode 11, which is picked up in episode 12. Are these Hui Ju's dreams and wishes or actually scenes from the past?

- It goes on to say that the real Sa Eon was killed by the police, while the new Sa Eon disappeared. How? When? Why didn't Hui Ju stop him? All this information is only given bit by bit and is extremely confusing.

- By the way, I found it bad how little empathy was shown for the story of the real Sa Eon and his mother and how quickly these scenes were cut off. Of course, both of them did bad things, but above all the real Sa Eon was severely traumatized in childhood (like Hui Ju and the imitation Sa Eon). All of these children were a case for a psychologist. I just think it's terrible that these traumas were not addressed properly. Even a child like the real Sa Eon, who had already shown psychopathic traits in childhood, urgently needed professional help. Instead, he was locked up and abused by his grandfather. As a result, these cruel events remain very superficial and the story is stripped of a lot of depth...

So, as someone who has followed and supported the drama from the beginning, I honestly don't know how to rate it now. Even though there were many tropes I watched it for the sizzling chemistry of the leads. But now I'm simply at a loss for words. From the beginning, I gave it a 10, but now...?

Long review of ep 12 as a spoiler.

The actor YYS is perfectly cast in this role. Why because Baek Saeon has seen some shit and lived a stressful,…
"The character Baek Saeon is not just a romantic lead, character has larger function in the story than to romance the heroine, only a mature actor could have pulled off this character with ease. " 💯💯 Yes, you find the right words! You described his role so well. And correct those veiny hot hands can't be pulled off by 20 something guy 😏
