Ahh, yeah. I saw another comment describing what you mentioned. For me, they both do a fantastic job and I had zero problems to understand their character, their intentions, emotions and thoughts. On the other hand..my EQ is fairly high and I'm good with getting and reading people, so I may have it easier to get complex characters than other people. I know the actor from My Man is Cupid and I just mentioned after Episode 1 how much I enjoy his acting here, since its more challenging than a simple romcom character. What a beautiful movie. Japan nails it all the time to make such short movies that make me sob like a baby. Loved the atmosphere and music. The acting was great, too.

The father only said she didnt get along with her mother (would a kid beg so much to safe her, if she didnt get along well and wanted to leave the house?! I mean, yeah, sure, some basic love might be there, but..we saw her desperation, idk about that..) with the fire story, it makes so much more sense. she probably didnt have much problems with her mom, she probably wanted to leave asap bc her father just let her mom die in the fire. Hence why he never visited her, but only looked from afar. It makes literally no sense to watch from the side how your daughter gets abused and NOT chime in. Even if the relationship is tricky, i would assume a parent who love their child tries at least to talk to them in such a situation. He just stood there and watched, saying it was bc he couldnt do anything (ok why?) We also know she wanted the officer to take care of her son. Sounds like the grandpa wasnt even on her radar.
